“I got my hair cut on a whim due to wanting a fresh start for the lunar new year. I really had no clear vision of what would look good on me but was able to find some clear inspiration pictures on Pinterest. Peng was very helpful in helping me come to a decision!

The haircut:
Peng was my stylist and I believe he did a great job. He was very approachable and skilled. We started with a hair wash, blow dry. Peng then blew my hair out, and finished with the haircut. I think this allowed for an easier way for me to see the vision. I am very pleased with how my hair turned out, and I’m glad I came to this salon.

As many reviews have mentioned: this is a primarily Chinese-speaking salon. This did present some communication barriers for me as Peng and I were unable to communicate as well as we would have wanted. Google translate did help a bit.

The space:
Tucked away on the side of a shopping center, the salon was a tad outdated and stuck to essentials. Otherwise clean and spacious. I also noticed that a lot of the brushes and scissors weren’t put into Barbicide. I’m not sure what the process of cleaning tools between clients is, so this is why I deducted 1 star due to me feeling a bit off about that.

Overall, I think my $75 haircut was well worth it for the amount of hair I cut off and getting to work with the pleasant Peng. If they up their cleanliness, I’d be sure to go back! Thank you, InStyle!“

“Rodrigo gave my son his first ever haircut and was very sweet with him, and it looks great! He also cut my hair and I am used to hairdressers not understanding my hairtype and what I'm asking for..but Rodrigo listened, made sure we meant the same thing and is now officially the first hairdresser that has ever given me the exact haircut I wanted!!
