“Our AC went out - we discovered it at about 3 am. I contacted Puckett's right away. They come out a couple of times per year for a maintenance contract and have done other hvac work for us over the past couple of years. Jay came out and checked the system. Diagnosed the problem quickly. Unfortunately, he didn't have the part he needed on his truck. He made sure he could get his hands on the part and scheduled me for the next day (today). He called me at 0830 to tell me he could be here by 0930 instead of noon. I really appreciated the advance notice. He was here by 0915 and got to work right away. Jay has been here a few times over the past few years. Very pleasant and respectful. Considering the recent weather and I'm sure the customer demands, he was in good spirits. Yesterday, I followed him around as he did his diagnosis. He explained what he was doing, what he was looking for and what he found. Not easy working with a customer shadowing you, but I'm curious, not trying to be a supervisor. He takes it all in stride. He has never seemed bothered by my curiosity. “I had Steele's out to give me an estimate for replacing my Heat Pump back in 2017. I had mentioned that the existing unit wasn't getting the job done. Steele recommended a Carrier 2-Stage, 3 ton, 16.5 SEER, system in lieu of the recommendations of getting more expensive options that I had been looking at.
