“Absolutely saved me, truly a caring and customer oriented establishment. I had a funeral to go to on a Tuesday and while trying my suit on over the weekend I could barely close the pants, so I had 2 options, don't eat until the funeral or get them taylored. Long story short I went into My cleaners at almost 3pm on Monday as they were closed on Saturday due to Thanksgiving. I knew there was a strong chance they wouldn't be able to help me as I needed to be at the funeral Tuesday at 10:30. However after explaining my situation to the owner she kindly accepted, and at first was going to have them ready by 9:15 the next morning which would have definitely worked but I would be rushing. Upon further consideration she asked if I could come right at closing that day to pick them up and I was very willing to oblige. So while I wouldn't count on this as a normal occurrence, I had my pants beautifully fit in basically 2 hours time. I very much appreciate both the quality quick job that was done but even more so the consideration for my situation and the willingness to make an exception for my short time span. “Wow, you don’t find craftsmanship like this anymore! I was taking a ride on my bike, and when I was getting back on my zipper would not close. It was a pretty cool evening and I wasn’t looking forward to riding without my jacket. I just happened to be in the parking lot and saw the cleaners. I walked in and asked if they repaired zippers and they had a very nice gentleman take a look at it. He spent at least 20 minutes trying to replace the zipper pull but unfortunately it’s a custom zipper and he did not have the right size. But he did adjust the zipper, waxed it and straightened some things out. Now it seems to work just fine. I asked what I could pay him for his time and he refused to take any money. I even waited until he went to the back and asked the front person if I could give them money for the work because even though he didn’t replace it, it was now 100% better. They still wouldn’t take any money. I plan to make this my dry cleaner, even though I live 20 miles away.“

“I came here after a different tailor quoted $80 for just one dress to hem. Here they quoted me much less. I paid $58 for dry cleaning one satin gown dress and also hemming a silk dress. I think that is great value and the staff are nice people (I think Korean?). I put the dress on in the store so they can see where the dress would fall and where they would have to take it up and hem the bottom. I am happy with the results and would gladly use this local service again.“

I went to several other cleaners and they said there was no way they could hem my dress by the evening. But this really sweet woman hemmed my dress by 3 pm after dropping it at 9:15 am. “I’ve been going to Zips - Gaithersburg for several years. They provide quality services at fair prices. Primary, I use their dry cleaning services. I’ve never experienced any problems. If a garment is too delicate to handle, they have informed me that they prefer not to risk it on their equipment and offer to send to a partner store that has different equipment which can handle the job. I’ve done this a few times with my wife’s garments without any issues. I’ve had suits and sport coats altered there with great satisfaction also.

I’ve used Zips also for having Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts patches sewn on accessory garments. They do a great job; however, the prices significantly increased for this service. For small jobs like a shirt, it’s ok but when you get into outdoor patch jackets it becomes expensive.

Overall, great service and better prices than their competitors. I highly recommend.“
