Justin from the sales team came out promptly and gave us a good read on our roof’s major and minor deficiencies, laying out different options at different price points. We decided to do a full new roof with new gutters. We compared the quote to three other vendors and found it most competitive - high-quality shingle materials combined with relatively low price. A team of about ten people came out within three weeks and completed the job in 2.5 days. My one small knock was that the sales team said fascia only needed partial replacement, but it ended up being a full replacement, thus requiring a separate quote and higher cost. But this was only a small portion of the total project. The team provided a lot of photographs of the project, so we had good visibility on progress and the final results”

The project was extensive, covering the mansard sides, peaked top, an L-shaped flat roof over an extension, a bay window, an overhang at the front door, and the flat roof of a mudroom, plus new gutters, soffits, and window trim.<br><br>The crew, led by Alex, worked diligently for 10 full days, completing long hours and cleaning up meticulously at the end of each day. John O'Brien, the owner, was great to work with. He helped us select an asphalt shingle with a bit of color, which served as a fitting replacement for the original 152-year-old slate. The initial quote was clear and detailed, and the final price was only about 10% more due to necessary permits, dumpster overweight from the old slate, and new plywood sheathing for rotted wood.<br><br>John handled the logistics of working in Cambridge, including the necessary permits for construction and the dumpster. Both his roofing supplier and dumpster company were excellent, with drivers who skillfully navigated our narrow street without any issues. John was responsive to texts and calls, easy to work with.<br><br>We will not need a new roof anytime soon, but I would hire Mastercraft again.”
