“We had Erie come out and strip the many layers of shingles off our house and replace with a new fiberglass shingle roof. They were able to complete the work in two days. There was a bit of a miscommunication on one part of our roof - we are planning on some renovations down the line which would require us to have a ridge vent, currently it doesn’t need it. They came back to next day to discuss the issue and promptly scheduled them to return and fix it. They were very attentive and I’m sure it will be done to our satisfaction.“

“We had a squirrel getting into our attic.Called empire to install new flashing around the chimney to keep the squirrel from getting in.Jim Sullivan came right out to my house and provided a fair estimate.The work was completed within 10 days.Empire replace 4 skylights in our kitchen a few years ago and they did good work with no drama, no chasing, no stories.I'd gladly call them again for more things to get taken care of.“
“My husband and I engaged Mike and ICS for a complete exterior remodel on our duplex in Cambridge, which included (i) installing James Hardie siding and Azek trim, (ii) rebuilding our rotten back porch with composite decking and railings, (iii) installing roofing shingles on the mansard portion of our roof, (iv) removing insulation in our attic that had previously been improperly installed between the rafters by a prior owner, (v) installing new front and back doors, and (vi) installing new interior trim around the front and back door. We are so pleased with the final result and would definitely recommend ICS to anyone in the Cambridge/Somerville area looking for an exterior renovation/siding contractor.Given the high demand for siding contractors, we were worried that the project wouldn't be able to commence until well into the Summer of 2023, but Mike was able to fit in our project for the end of November 2022, which was great. Mike served as our primary point of contact and was communicative, easy-going and a pleasure to work with. He demonstrated a high level of expertise, as did his lead contractor on the project, and both were helpful in offering design suggestions for the back deck and trim. Even working through the cold months of November and December, the crew was on site nearly every day promptly at 8am (even the pretty cold days where we didn't expect them) and Mike was great about letting us know if they weren't coming. Mike and his crew were also very professional, even when dealing with some cranky neighbors, and took care to keep the worksite clean and as unobtrusive as possible for us and the neighbors.We ended up adding on the interior trim install to the project (which had to be re-installed as a result of replacing the front and back door that we were previously planning to do ourselves) and Mike and his crew were super easy going about the change order and didn't overcharge us.We appreciated that Mike and his team had ample experience in Cambridge. During our initial meeting with Mike to discuss the project and obtain a quote, he provided us with a long list of properties where they had installed Hardie siding denoting the color, which was very helpful and reflected that ICS stood behind its work.Thank you ICS for making our home look so beautiful!“
“Bob is wonderful. Called me right away show me a pic of my gutter with grass and dirt . I wasn't home so he left the amount I owed and I mailed him a check . It's nice to now some people trust to u to mail a check after the fact . He also notice that I needed just 1 gutter shield not 2 others so it saved me a lot of money . “Their work was WONDERFUL & PERFECT! We have a 100+ year old house, and when they stripped the old shingles off, they found a lot of rotted boards that they replaced. And at the end they spent almost four hours precision-installing new metal flashing around the chimney and under the shingles, meticulously sealing everywhere water might enter -- i've rarely seen such devotion to craftmanship no-matter-how-long-it-takes.And as arranged, they removed a skylight and boarded over the opening, with our agreement saying the added labor for that would be added tothe otherwise fixed price.
