83 Pine St #5, Peabody“I’m a life long combat athlete who is just starting to tip the scales on declining physical and mental health and after learning about blue zones and longevity I wanted to transition my hobbies and lifestyle towards healthier aging . I wasn’t sure what I wanted but I wanted something that could meet the majority of the attributes I believe help you age healthier. The idea of taking a traditional martial art appealed to me because although not the same it did have a continuity with my previous combat sport experience and I thought that would give me some confidence learning something completely new. I looked at a few schools and styles but loved the traditional aspect and uechi style that I saw when I visited authentic karate training center. After taking the introductory class and 2 week trial there was no question this was the best place for me to achieve my goals. Not only is sensie chip an amazing teacher but everyone in the dojo is fantastic and welcoming. It’s honestly been a pleasure to train here and I would recommend authentic karate training center to everyone and quite often do !“

649 Lowell St Unit G, Peabody“I visited ADAS for an open mat and had a wonderful experience! Everyone at the academy was incredibly friendly and respectful. Kids, moms, and dads all shared the mat, showcasing a strong community-based gym. ADAS clearly fosters a welcoming environment passionate about BJJ as a whole. Their instructors were extremely hospitable, making everyone feel right at home. The facilities were super clean, which is always important.
If you're looking to train BJJ in Peabody, I highly recommend this spot. I heard great reviews about ADAS, and they truly live up to the hype. OSS!“

36 Spinelli Pl, Cambridge“Sensei Bobby and his team are outstanding. Our four year old son has been going to the dragon class for a year, and it’s made such a difference for his self confidence, ability to focus, and patience. We were initially unsure how a 3 year old could pay attention in a martial arts class, but we were astounded at how much kids can do. Sensei Bobbi has such a gift for teaching, and it’s so apparent how much joy he gets from it. He makes martial arts fun and engaging while also instilling discipline and respect for the sport. Kids walk out high fiving and hugging each other. It’s the highlight of my week as a parent watching the kids practice. What we love about the class is also in the structure. Sensei Bobby has the older kids demonstrate and serve as role models for the younger kids. He also brings a lot of his junior instructors to help, which means kids are constantly learning and teaching each other. Our son smiles every time he talks about martial arts all because of how amazing AMAC is. We can’t recommend it enough!“

125 Walnut St, Watertown“I'm constantly looking forward to my next class at Wu Dao. Shifu Lindsay Lambert is an excellent teacher with a broad range of martial arts expertise -- she often says that good Tai Chi is relevant to everything, mentioning principles of Choy Lay Fut, Sanda, Shuai Jiao, and other arts. The Tai Chi class environment is friendly and motivating, while also cultivating depth and seriousness when it comes to technique. It feels like the kind of training I want to be doing for a long time. I started attending not long after a surgery, and Shifu Lindsay checked in with me to make sure the training and conditioning was going well and feeling doable as I recovered. Every week I feel more and more natural in the foundational Tai Chi I'm learning, and Qigong and conditioning exercises have been perfect for getting mobile and flexible again after a period of inactivity. Soon I hope to start training in the Kung Fu classes as well. This place is the real deal!“
3 - 8PM
30 Main St #6, Topsfield“We love this place. They truly care about the kids while teaching respect for others and discipline.“
“Steve Nugents karate Institute has 2 main karate schools or called "dojos", this one in Winchester and the main one on Cambridge Street in Burlington, Mass. They structure their programs around safety and awareness, overall respect, and good basic karate self defense skills. Their instructors led by Grandmaster Nugent are super trained, even in first aid and cpr, which I thought was excellent. They are super passionate and attentive toward their student and actually are quite caring, which I have never found in my searching for quality karate schools. Definitely check them out... I am very impressed !“
3 - 9PM

3:20 - 8:30PM
408 Highland Ave, Somerville“Excellent school with wonderful instructors! My kids have attended for years, with my daughter is currently working on her black belt. The instructors get to know each student and support and challenge them in a very caring, thoughtful way. Students learn Kung Fu forms and self-defence, and increase fitness and flexilibity. But perhaps more importantly, they develop life skills: confidence, respect, self-respect, perseverence when working towards a new goal, and the joy and pride when reaching that goal. All while learning to be patient with themselves and others. The amazing staff at Davis Square Martial Arts were living the Growth Mindset long before it became a buzzword in education.I take the parents' class, which is an inspiring mix of martial arts, self-defence, personal training, and parenting therapy. And you get to kick stuff:) Pretty awesome! And a lovely community too.“
10AM - 9:30PM

Master Shin has been nothing but caring and kind, as well as supportive and honest. Even after I have taken a bit of a leave from his business he still continues to help me to this day. I am truly grateful for everything he has done for me and I could not recommend a better Teacher and master to anyone else.“

“Every class at Pedro’s Judo is a learning experience not just for the students, but for the parents too. My wife and I absolutely love this Judo center. The environment is incredibly welcoming — it truly feels like a family. The instructors are phenomenal, and many of them have children of their own, so they know exactly how to connect with and motivate kids in a positive, disciplined way. You can see the pride and passion they put into every lesson, building confidence, respect, and focus in every student. It’s amazing to watch how much progress the kids make, both on and off the mat. Pedro’s Judo isn’t just about martial arts — it’s about character, community, and growth. We couldn’t be happier to have our family be part of this place!“
