“My son started his karate journey in 2021 to see if this was something he may be interested in for him and for us to see if it could help his self esteem, and to feel more confident. In the almost two years he has been there, he has shown such progress that I couldn’t imagine it would have happened without the teachers and community at the dojo! He challenged himself recently in a tournament they held and he really proved to himself, and to us that he is brave, resilient, courageous, and willing to tackle challenges even if they seem to others to be too much! So proud of all he has accomplished with the dojo community’s help and looking forward to see how much more he will grow.We had checked out a couple other places before landing at AKTC and please believe not all places are similar. Here, you can watch your child during each class. The teachers take a genuine interest in each child yet make sure they are progressing. They make sure that the time spent during each class is about furthering, perfecting and understanding each move while still keeping in mind the ages of the children and somehow managing to keep their focus, and structure yet not in an overbearing militant way. There are many karate places close to where we live but AKTC is worth the travel/traffic!“

“I had been wanting to give BJJ a go for years, and I couldn’t be happier that I made the choice to join Fenix. Phenomenal coaches, and phenomenal teammates come together to make an awesome environment to train. If you’re on the fence about starting your training journey, just do it. Sign up for that trial class. Get hooked, and then we can have that “I should have started 10 years ago” conversation.“

“I started here 4 months ago with zero knowledge of BJJ. Next month I will be competing in my first tournament. The instruction, support and postive influence here is incredible. My 6 year old son is also a student here and training has helped him incredibly with focus, disapline and overall helping him to mature and feel confident about standing up for himself around other pushy kids. I can not say enough about Fenix BJJ Danvers. OSS!!7 years in, still going. Still the same amazing training!!Been training here nearly 8 years now, and I received my brown belt. I've been teaching the Thursday nights, all levels, classes... this gym has become our second home and Coach Nassib our family....“

“Cervizzi’s Martial Arts in Lynnfield is Amazing. They teach more than just self-defense techniques and many of the benefits extend beyond karate.Students learn discipline, self-respect, self-control and confidence. These are benefits from instruction, effort in a structured environment. Post-covid-> the dojo enhanced their teaching offerings to include online learning as well as thoughtful in-person classes (limiting class size, taking temperatures, wearing masks, and cleaning between each class). Cervizzi’s Martial Arts in Lynnfield has been the one consistent activity during Covid and it is a testament to the dedication of the instructors and staff. Our daughter has been going for 4+ years. We saw how much she was growing that our son joined for the past 3+ years, and to make it a family bond, I joined 2 years ago. I have witnessed each of our growth. One annual tournament really stuck out to me. Our daughter entered a competition for weapons, forms, and sparring. Before the forms event, she had to speak in front of the judges (and about 75+ spectators). I felt nervous for her but the crowd didn’t impede her one bit. She remain focused and executed her form flawlessly. I share this specific moment because it is another benefit beyond classes: the ability to practice, practice, practice, execute and compete. We highly recommend Cervizzi’s Martial Arts Academy!“

“My child started with Master O 5 years ago at another location. Sensei Herman treats his students with firmness, fairness, dignity and compassion. He has mentored my kid through difficult teen years. Other kids would be fortunate to have time at this dojo.“

“Lemme tell ya the best class ever! I went for the first time to punch out about a month ago and I go every Monday & Wednesday. The energy of the staff and sensei are so supportative but you walk out dripping sweat. I was always so nervous to do a class but I felt comfortable right away, I joined Sensei's karate class as well. The class works for every one! sensei makes it easy for you to adjust to harder or easier workouts based on your ability. I'm so happy I found this class I live all the way in Medford and it's totally worth the commute I recommend this work out studio for anyone and everyone, you belong here :)“

The classes are energetic, allowing students full range of motion and their bodies while practicing real world application to get the muscle memory and experience they need. “Great teachers, great master. Started when I was not but around 10 years old and continued it for a great portion of my life. Master Shin has been nothing but caring and kind, as well as supportive and honest. Even after I have taken a bit of a leave from his business he still continues to help me to this day. I am truly grateful for everything he has done for me and I could not recommend a better Teacher and master to anyone else.“

“I have attended Ann Munchmeyer's Zumba classes at NEMA for 4 years. The classes are fun, each song has a different dance routine, and the mix of different genres is great. Try a class. You'll love it.“

“Steve Nugents karate Institute has 2 main karate schools or called "dojos", this one in Winchester and the main one on Cambridge Street in Burlington, Mass. They structure their programs around safety and awareness, overall respect, and good basic karate self defense skills. Their instructors led by Grandmaster Nugent are super trained, even in first aid and cpr, which I thought was excellent. They are super passionate and attentive toward their student and actually are quite caring, which I have never found in my searching for quality karate schools. Definitely check them out... I am very impressed !“

“Rising Storm Training Academy is a wonderful place for kids to learn the art of Martial Arts. Newly opened and offering great session times for working parents! Nathan, the head instructor and owner, has a real skill for teaching and engaging kids that can lose focus. The rates are very reasonable to. He offeres a free introductory lesson to try out. My son is having a super time and learning the art so quickly directly because of Nathans teaching.“

“My family has had a wonderful experience attending Ku’s Taekwondo Academy this year. The staff is warm and friendly and the facility is well-kept. The real draw, though, is Grandmaster Ku. He is likable and kind, but commands the respect of the students. He teaches discipline and hard work while maintaining a sense of humor and fun.I would highly recommend Ku’s to any parents looking to help their child get out some energy, learn important life skills, and work towards a goal.“

“We began with Elite Freestylekarate shortly after we moved here. We have been very happy with our decisions. Though I was initially put off with how speedily kids were moved along and the costs, I came to understand the necessity that given the commitment required, it is helpful to allow kids to see progress. I have seen my daughter begin to really master many of these skills as she progresses and in most classes there is always a point to stress the basics, that all the more advanced skills are built upon. I feel that all the progress I have seen in my daughter with respect to fitness, maturity, commitment, and martial arts skill have justified the expense. The Senseis are always respectful and I credit their ability to manage such diverse classes, diverse in backgrounds, ages, and behaviors.“
