I gave my son the choice of another school but my son would only choose this school. He likes the strictness of the Senseis and also the school creed. The Senseis teach self defense and honorable fighting, and don't try to condition the kids to do vicious underhand fighting to deliberately hurt opponents. We were at a tournament when we saw competitors from other schools and we could clearly see a difference in kids and how they were taught from the way they fought other kids. I'm quite proud that many of the kids from this dojo won different medals for form and fighting, reflecting the quality of instruction. Teaching traditional Shotokan karate, and sport fighting. Red Tiger Academy has been in Somerville Massachusetts for over 20 years. Karate can teach RESPECT, SELF-CONTROL, DISCIPLINE and SELF DEFENSE. Students start as young as 4 years old and can practice up to senior age.
