“I had ongoing problems with a two year old boiler which couldn't maintain steady water temperature.The big company which installed it originally , quoted a very expensive fix to replace the coil.This didn't seem right to me for such a new boiler. Dave came out and quickly diagnosed the issue which had nothing to do with the coil and fixed it at a very reasonable cost. He was very polite and professional. Highly recommended.“
“I highly recommend Interstate Plumbing. Jaime came to look at what we thought was a leaking pipe in our basement ceiling as water started dripping suddenly from light fixtures. Jamie came first thing and instead of immediately cutting holes in the ceiling, as many would have done, hunted around and determined the leak was coming from our fridge water line and not a pipe after all. “Our house has a non-standard heating and A/C arrangement, and the gas furnace for the upstairs developed a crack in the heat exchanger. James was one of three contractors that provided an estimate for replacing the system with a HE furnace and new A/C. He was very responsive, and actually spent time with me explaining various system options, and working out the details of how he would install the intake & exhaust piping. This was very important to me since the furnace is in a difficult location, and it required a lot of thought as to how best to route the pipes through the walls and through side of the house. We were also very impressed by his high BBB rating, so we selected him to do the work. James had the equipment delivered within two days and began installing it the next day since the nights were getting colder. He was very much hands-on working directly on the project with his team. They had the old furnace and A/C removed and the pipes run on the first day, and the new furnace installed and operational on the second day, just in time for the first really cold night. On the last day, he had the A/C installed and running, ready for next summer. Without adding to the cost, he included new tubing to the condenser, the additional refrigerant needed for the extra distance, and a new thermostat.The new system is working great. James did everything he said he would and we are very happy with the results. This was a significant project for us, and our experience with him was excellent. I can highly recommend him.“

“Competent, efficient, responsive, reasonably-priced... What else could I ask for?When the gas company (Nat'l Grid) technicians did not know how to restart an older hot-water boiler heating system after they swapped the gas meter, they called in HomeServe. The HomeServe technicians then damaged the boiler, creating a hazardous situation, including small gas explosions within the boiler, and excess CO emissions. This is a two-family building, and my tenant had no heat in January in New England... I called numerous heating contractors, and Stephen Devaney was the first to respond. He met me at the building within an hour of our call, and immediately diagnosed the problem. He spent several hours repairing and adjusting the boiler, and everything was then working fine. He charged me a very reasonable fee, especially considering this was an emergency call on a weekend. I would not hesitate to recommend him.“
