“In January, after the first of the major wind storms this winter, I had a leak in a familiar place in the roof. It would happen once every five or six years or so depending on the gale force direction. It happened a week later with the next bad storm and I knew I had to do something immediately. Looked up roofers in Quincy, saw Secure Roofing and noted they were local with great reviews. Called them first and Mike was immediately responsive! He came over at 7:30 AM the next day, found the problem and he and his workers came back in a few hours and fixed it pronto! He was fair in price and easy with which to do business. He advised me properly and the repair has done the job throughout all of these fierce winter storms. I plan to hire him back this Spring to replace the roof. “We got two quotes to replace our 20+ year old roof as well as the gutters and skylights. The first company (large regional company) sent out a sales person who put on a 60-minute sales pitch after only ever looking at the roof from street level. Universal Roofing was the second company to come look. Igor up was walking on our roof within 2-minutes of arriving for the quote and took a bunch of pictures to point out a few issues we didn't know we had. The quote was slightly less than our expectation (and significantly less than the other company) and Igor answered every question that we had. He also revised the estimate to include some additional small items we requested at no extra cost (another unexpected surprise). We felt confident in Universal Roofing and cancelled other scheduled quotes.Scheduling for the work was quick, workers were on time and worked fast, and the clean up was pretty thorough. Igor was very communicative through the whole process (which only took a day and a half), sent multiple pictures of the work in progress, and addressed all questions very quickly. There was a minor potential issue with the gutters and he sent the crew back quickly to address it after we notified him.Time will of course tell how well the roof/gutters/skylights hold up, but there is a 10-year workmanship guarantee and Igor genuinely seems like he stands by his work/crew. There was an issue about the structure of my porch and Nova delayed there work and even sent a carpenter as an objective expert (he was not to be part of the roof project) to help me understand what estimates and plan was the best one for me to choose. The work was done in one day and the crew did an excellent job cleaning up afterward. I won't ever need another roof but if I did, I would not hesitate to hire Nova.“
