“Hair stylist, Nina, was AMAZING! Best haircut I've had in Naperville/Oakbrook in over three years! And she was SO helpful and knowledgeable and went WELL out of her way to accommodate my allergies to certain product ingredients. The entire staff, from front desk to the salon, were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The salon itself is clean, modern, and pleasant. A full five stars for all of the above.

So why only four stars? Their tipping policy. You are not allowed to use CC for your tip: only cash or Venmo/Zelle--or use their ATM if you don't have cash. My bank charges and ATM fee, I had no cash with me (does anyone carry cash anymore??) and, after thinking about it--and the lack of fraud protection and identify theft issues rampant with peer-to-peer payment systems-- I decided NOT to break my rule of using Venmo/Zelle ONLY to send money to long-time friends or relatives whom I trust. I get it: they want to avoid taxes on tips. But it is shortsighted as a business not to allow credit cards for tips--or at least debit cards. I know many salons prefer to avoid the credit card fees for tips, which I completely understand. But there are not such fees for debit card payments for tips.

So now that I went home to get cash, I will have to drive back tomorrow (costing me a lot of gas money, as I do not live close)--just to give them a cash tip. SMH.“

For a brief window I was just a person on a table, unbothered, which is honestly the dream.

The atmosphere is carefully, thoughtfully calm. Soft lighting. Low noise. A space designed to make you forget, temporarily, the full weight of existing. It works.

Will I be back? Yes. Will it fix anything permanently? That’s a question for someone with more optimism than me. But Stasi, Lailah, Breanne, and the team at Hand & Stone made the time I spent there the best part of my week.
