Bob of Berg Home Improvements was quick to respond to our call and to visit our house, and his estimate was quick and clear, with all options easy to price and evaluate. His crew appeared early, and all were on the roof and working by 7:00 a.m. Crew were polite and careful and worked efficiently and effectively, despite a heat index of 101 degrees and not a whiff of breeze. All roofing completed by noon on the second day. The gutter contractor appeared the next morning and installed ~250 feet of new gutter and gutter leaf guard by 2:30.
Pricing was fair (not meaning so-so, but meaning reasonable and in-line). All along, Bob was easy to work and communicate with, with very quick replies to all my email queries.

“After many years in waiting my wife and I decided we needed new windows for our home. We had a lot of windows including some picture windows. My wife asked me to find a Chicago area contractor. Thinking about this and knowing that there were lots of Ukrainians (prior experience working with Ukrainain software developers who are considered some of the world's best programmers) living in the Chicago area I started looking for window contractors that were Ukrainian base...... and I found one. The name of the window contractor was E. V. Windows & Doors. Our first meeting with Chris was great and somewhat unique. At the end of the meeting, I asked Chris why we should hire him. Chris responded saying they were the best ... ... ..and he said he had a team of Ukrainians working for him.... which was the best, most concise value proposition and greatest sales close I have ever experienced. For those who have never had the Ukrainian worker experience I strongly suggest you use E. V. Windows & Doors. Allow Chris to prove to you the masterly great Ukrainian work as they do window installs for your home. The only negotiation was discussing how soon he could start. Starting date became the main thing. While waiting for Chris's team to come a couple months later we would contact Chris and ask him questions about the project. When we had a question, we would email, or call and we got a near immediate response with a brief and accurate summary. They always responded quickly with great suggestions and updated us on the manufacturing and supply chain process for new windows. Being introduce to the window manufacturing-supply chain process with updates on each was very different from other prior service providers In the middle of September, Chris's Ukrainian team came to our home. Stefan, a nice and very smart guy was the crew leader. Introduicng himself in a professional manner, Stefan described the process they would use, a first for me. Other contractors for other jobs never explain in length in the manner Stefan describe to me. Then they went to work. Instead of being gabby like other work crews we had in our home from prior work they were heads down getting the work done. They moved fast, being very neat and tidy, always picking up anything that fell. When I came by and asked a question they immediately answered and then went right back to work. One thing I noticed as they were working was how focused and effective they were as they installed the larger picture windows on the second floor of our home. Despite the window size each crew man was able to install the window by himself. When the windows were installed, Stefan as they were finishing up explained how we should take care of the windows. As he was describe what, how, and why, I started noticing the window frames. Their structure looked very solid compared to other window designs I had seen at other retail locations. One of the other facts about Stefan and his crew, it took them only a few hours to get all the windows and everything in our home clean up. We were told by other vendors that our window project would take up most of the day. So I say try out E. V. Windows & Doors.....and enjoy the Ukrainian work experience. It will be a most interesting and wonderful experience.“

During design, Greg took time to listen to our wish list and came up with a great design combining our too small dining room and outdate kitchen layout with a larger, more functional space. The 3D views he provided gave us confidence in the overall layout. We even have cabinet space that we have not used yet.

Mary Kate patiently attended to our cabinet, counter and fixture selection as we went through the tremendous variety of each. She even steered us away from selections that, now that the kitchen has been completed, we are completely happy with.

“National Energy Contractors just completed a sunroom and deck for us and we couldn't be happier!

We talked to three sunroom companies when we started our project and from the beginning it became clear that National Energy Contractors and its owner Peter Gatsch stood above the rest.

Peter showed us pictures of other sunrooms and additions they had done and talked about his company and the construction process. We were removing an existing deck and weren't exactly sure what we'd wanted to replace it both in size and functionality.

He sketched up a drawing showing his vision of a large sunroom with a smaller deck on the side, maintaining the look of our house and its rooflines to ensure the addition would look harmonious. Later he sent us an initial proposal, including detailed description and the estimated cost. Once we saw this, we knew this was the direction we wanted to go, with Peter leading the way.

He laid out a timeline for the entire project, from the demolition and removal of our existing deck, the build process including construction permits and inspections, to project completion. He told us what to expect at each step, and an approximate timeline when each stage would occur.

Peter assembled a team consisting of an architect to refine the design, concrete workers to do the foundation, builders and helpers, roofers, a door specialist, and electricians. We came to know everybody by name, and each and every member of the team was friendly, skilled, and professional.

Throughout the project, National Energy Contractors kept in constant contact with us, addressing concerns and ensuring the project was flowing smoothly. Peter made numerous visits to our home during the project, dropping off samples, inspecting the construction, and answering questions. He also kept in touch through phone calls, emails and text messages.

Regardless of how many projects he was working on, Peter made us feel like we were his only customer. His responsiveness and professionalism were incredible. In addition, his office assistant Sharon kept us abreast of project status and quickly addressed concerns or questions as they came up. She and Peter kept everything running smoothly, and allowed us to relax knowing care and attention was being paid at every step.

The connection lead, Radim and his coworker Dimitri were responsible for the main construction of the sunroom and the attached deck. Radim is a master craftsman and his attention to detail was incredible. He addressed several project complications quickly, and we were always amazed at the quality of the final result. Radim and Dimitri along with the rest of the construction team did an outstanding job.
