My rescue Walter is usually petrified of the vet, but has now tried to drag me over to the vet just to say hello. They were patient when he was really agitated getting his blood drawn and worked with me to figure out the right medication to have calm visits.Most recently, I woke up realizing I'd left his anxiety meds at mother's house in Indiana. I called the vet and had replacement meds in hand within an hour, and was still able to make my flight that morning.Walter and I appreciate them so much!“
“I can't speak more highly of Duke Animal Hospital! I had a very scary emergency with my dog and we live close by. We are not currently clients of Duke but given the emergency they took my dog right away and could not have been more attentive and helpful. The doctor acted quickly and professionally and every staff member went above and beyond to make sure my dog was okay. My dog is doing great!!! “Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff! We’ve been taking our two rescues there for 3 years now and we love each of the vets we’ve worked with. One of our dogs is very leash reactive so when I let the receptionist know, she had someone come meet us at their back entrance right away to avoid having to walk past other dogs in the lobby. They also escorted us back to our car to make sure no other dogs were outside. It’s the little things like this that made our visit so much less stressful. The staff at North Ave always goes above and beyond and we’re so appreciative of them.“
“There was some confusion about a late night appointment on a Friday to euthanize, Lucky our dear cat. The office was officially closed when we got there and the staff was punched out for the day. Knowing that this was a very difficult time, the doctor and two staff members stayed and assisted us. “Abbott is amazing! Dr Child took great care of my cat! Olive needed a portion of her tail amputated after an injury. It has been a long road of recovery due to Olive trying to bite the surgery site. Dr Child was extremely caring and even ordered her several special cones due to my cats small size to see which would work best for her. Every time I had a question the staff always responded in a timely manner. They have squeezed Olive into their busy schedule several times because of her bothering the surgery site (she's an awful patient). I am so thankful for Abbott!“
