“My family is beyond grateful to the Biedelman-Kunsch team, especially Shelley, for handling my father's funeral with empathy and compassion. We had a set of rather unique needs, including repatriation of his remains, as well as less common Chinese and Buddhist funerary customs.

Shelley handled everything in stride with understanding and patience. She helped coordinate a smooth repatriation, arranged a private visitation for us as soon as he arrived home, handled ordering memorial cards and a rush order for a cremation urn, accommodated our special requests for Buddhist funerary shrouds and a special timeline, and patiently made herself available at odd hours. She handled the coordination of the actual public visitation perfectly. She provided guidance and support, without being intrusive, throughout the entire process.

We were on the phone or email with her on a daily basis for almost two weeks, and she or the other team members (including Phil) were always extremely prompt and courteous in reply.

“Our family cannot say enough wonderful things about Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home. During an incredibly difficult time following the loss of our beloved grandmother, the matriarch of our family, the entire staff was patient, kind, understanding, flexible, and accommodating every step of the way.

Due to changing family circumstances, we had to make numerous adjustments throughout the planning process. Despite these challenges, the team remained professional, compassionate, and incredibly accommodating from beginning to end. They answered all of our questions and guided us through each decision with care and respect. They navigated coordination with the priest, church, bag piper, and the funeral home in Jacksonville, Florida for transport seamlessly.

The work they did was truly impeccable. Our grandmother looked absolutely beautiful, and the level of dignity, respect, and attention to detail that went into her preparation was evident. Seeing her so peacefully and beautifully presented brought great comfort to our family.

“We cannot praise Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral House enough for their help with our mother’s funeral. Both Tony and Anthony were kind and helpful. During the pre-planning step in January, Tony provided all the information we needed and answered all our questions without being intrusive. He even helped us with life insurance policy phone calls. When Mom passed away in May, they guided us through last minute planning and made a difficult time much easier. The communication with the cemetery was also seamless.

The setup at the Downers Grove facility is excellent. The chapel is on one side of the building and only a single family is hosted. We mourned our mother privately and the short service was lovely. The minister recommended by Tony had a long talk with the family and his remarks were as if he really knew our mother personally. The flowers ordered through the funeral home were absolutely gorgeous.

Across the hall is a ‘rest’ or ‘cafe’ area where we were able to take a break when needed to and just visit with our friends and family. We had a catered lunch set up through Cappettas. The sandwiches, crudite, and dessert were excellent.“

Christopher Tavonatti immediately returned my call and very kindly helped me make all the legal and personal arrangements required under Illinois law. “I can't say enough about Modell funeral home, especially Andrew and his wife Christina. They helped our family with preplanning and when we accually needed to use their services they were right at our side to make sure our needs and wishes we met. Andrew got to know my family and listened to what was important to all of us. My husband owned a classic car and Andrew asked if we would like to park his car in front of the funeral home during visitatations. It was such a personl touch to honor him. They helped us through the whole process which gave me peace of mind during the painful process of buring your spouse.
It is one of the most difficult things I have ever had to do and I will be forever be grateful to Modell for making the process worry free for our family. They take care of everything you need and stayed in contact with me afterwards to make sure I was ok and help with anything I might still need.

“In a gesture of love, unburden your family-consider prearranging your post-mortem needs. This will take tremendous stress off them during their time of grief. Also, it will allow you to have input into your celebration of life and how you want your remains handled- burial versus cremation. Anderson Goodale’s Memorial Home staff and associates (a positive shout out to Steve, Gracey, Nelson and Richard) assisted our family member who was a Veteran in securing his pre-planned service about a year ago. They were patient and supportive in this process, sensitive to his exact needs: his request for a private service, his Veteran’s status and his budget. He did not get pressured-he felt he was treated as an individual and not as a number. Unfortunately, we lost our dear family member a few months ago who had secured the pre-paid service and we concluded his funeral and burial services at the Veterans’ Cemetery. The staff were critical in securing a prompt burial and the military honors at the Veterans’ Cemetery. This made the experience smoother and less painful at the moment while working with their staff. They were patient and supportive in this process, welcoming to our family and also professional. Highly recommend that you talk about this subject while you are well and get a plan of action (although it is hard and not a real savory topic)—we are all going to pass away someday—preplanning and leaving this smoothly organized is truly a gift of love for your loved ones. When a person you love passes away with their post-mortem plans pre-made, then one can just focus on their grief instead of needing to take care of business. Also, this adds a sense of peace knowing your loved one had made their own plans and that you are following the wishes they put into place. (Additionally of note, in many states an irrevocable pre-paid funeral is allowable in spend down rules if preparing for Medicaid-check with your individual state’s pre-need advisor.) We are so appreciative of this mortuary and staff and the avenue of prepaying/preplanning. Thank you Anderson Goodale Memorial Home team, you have provided excellent service to our family and helped us in our final farewell. We appreciate your kindness and compassion.“
