“Really enjoying the atmosphere, the teachers, and the patrons! So happy I found this place. The variety of offerings is really neat as well. I was able to take tai chi and aerial yoga for the first time.“

“We loved our class with Yoga Under the Palms! We found them through the Go Oahu passes and it was seriously the best way to start out the morning. I convinced my whole group of 8 to join even though some of them were very wary about doing yoga, but afterwards everyone said how much they enjoyed it. Great instructor, lovely scenery, perfect beginner flow, and the cherry on top was a rainbow that showed up for most of the class. Definitely recommend!“

“One of my favorite activities! Nothing better than yoga at sunset over the ocean. Plus the teachers are always calm and engaging. They really make the class work for people of all levels. I always feel relaxed and recharged after. This is one of my favorite recommendations for visitors ❤️“

“This review is from May 2022. As for starting a day of hiking, I took the gentle beach yoga to stretch and to prepare the body for long day ahead. It was done under the Hawaiian trees so I didn't have to worry about getting too much sun. The sound of water and birds as well as breeze and aroma from beach and trees clear the mind almost felt like washing out all the negativities I had in mind at that time. It was such a wonderful experience. Strongly recommended.“

“As a chronic 'beginner' (due to lack of practice between classes), I really appreciate Elaine's skill and patience in helping everyone who attends the Saturday mid-day 'introductory' sessions. Elaine never seems annoyed if you can't get a pose right on the first try--even if she's shown it to you many times before. She also is very attentive to people who have medical conditions that limit their abilities, and knows which props to use to allow them to participate as fully as they can. The people attending the 'intro' class are very welcoming and interested in their fellow students. Nobody competes to be the best (or the most fashionable), and everyone is really supportive of each other. Since you don't have to bring any equipment and it's pay-as-you-go, it's a great way to see if Iyengar yoga is a style that suits you. My wife takes a week off from work to go to the Kofi Busia workshops every year, because she finds them so inspiring. Elaine and her colleagues have created a very nice environment for learning, and there's even plenty of free parking in the studio's basement!“

“Visiting a friend in town, I learned of this gem downtown yoga studio and went to class with her; parked right out front. The stretching and strengthening were just what I needed to restore my mind/body connection after a long plane flight. If I were in town longer I would go back for more classes, as the vibe was very friendly and supportive. I really appreciate good music when I exercise, and it was at just the right volume and the sound quality high.   The cleanliness, bathroom/shower, changing room, and yoga equipment were an added bonus.“

“IYSDC is a wonderful Iyengar Yoga studio with a wide variety of teachers and class levels for new and long-term practitioners alike. Super friendly and supportive teachers and students, lots of props and an awesome rope wall. About 1.5 years ago, I returned to yoga after a long absence and within a week, I'd signed up for classes every day. The mix of teachers keeps it fresh and interesting but ALL of them keep you safe, confident, and growing in yoga. I cannot rave about IYSDC enough! Come see for yourself!“
