2130 Hamilton Creek Pkwy #104, Dacula Georgia 30019
I have mixed reviews about this place. But, given the 4 stars, overall I was impressed. (This is a long review)
Let me start off by saying I am a massage therapist myself. So, I know the muscles. I have issues with my low back daily. Specifically the QL (quadratic lumborum) muscles.
My massage therapist, Beth/Elizabeth asked what I was looking to get done at the initial greeting. I think she was nice, but really had absolutely no personality. That’s fine really, after all I’m here for a massage.
I had a 90 minute massage and I felt that she basically just rubbed the lotion on my back for half the time. No massaging, just rubbing the lotion. (“Half the time” is definitely just a figure of speech.) Anyways she started on my low back but still just rubbed the lotion in. Never pressed into/put any type of pressure on any of the low back muscles I was desperately wanting.
(To add a side note: the QL is a set muscles beneath another set of muscles, the erectors. It can be tricky to get to it, but it’s possible)
Again, she started on my low back from the beginning so I was giving it time. Because maybe she’d go back. Nope. But whatever.
Everything is obviously connected one way or another in the body. So the work she did on my hips next was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Stretched the hip muscles out in a way I haven’t had since I went to massage school.
During this time though I was in tears because she didn’t work the QL muscles previously & they were/are so tight. I didn’t say anything because I knew it needed to be done and I was willingly able to suffer for the incredible stretch.
The work she did on my upper back, more so the scapulas, was great. Going back to the Erectors muscles; they run on both sides of the spine from the Occiput (back of head) down to the sacrum (low back/hips), so I WISH she would have done more work on those as well.
I don’t get uncomfortable easily, so this is for others, but when she lifted up the sheet/blanket for me to flip, she was at the head of the table. So could have seen what wasn’t meant to be seen by others. She should have been on the side and lifted the covers up.
I’ll end this massage review by saying the movement and stretch she did on my neck was also WONDERFUL!
One last thing that caught me off was after the massage, after I got dressed, I didn’t see her at all. Usually the therapist will walk you to the front (once you’ve changed and maybe have gone to the restroom) or be there in the front to tell you to have a good day, give you water or whatever. But not her.
I know it probably sounds like a lot of bad things, but, it’s not. I left with feeling so much better. And still feel better. Low back still hurts, but, it always does.
With all of that being said, I would recommend this place.
