“When it comes to an air conditioning or appliance service, I look for two main qualities: competence and integrity. Ron, the owner of Cajun's Applicance & Air Conditioning, is top notch on both counts. My AC went out on a hot Friday night and I called him the next day around noon; he showed up about 3 pm. When it appeared he wouldn't be able to fix my AC, he said there would be no charge. Of course, other companies would have charged just for the call. At Ron's suggestion, we (actually, my wife) started calling other companies, but Ron, who was still by the air handler in the garage, thought of another idea. He went back out to the compressor and was able to repair our heat pump after all. This made our Saturday afternoon and evening much more pleasant (it was 90 degrees plus that afternoon and very humid, and the indoor temperature had climbed to 85 degrees). By the time the dust settled, we had called three other companies. One never called back, despite their online promise of 24/7 service, and the two others said we would have to wait until Sunday (which is understandable). But thanks to Ron, our heat pump was running perfectly again on the day we called, and clearly, the price was fair. “Fields Appliance Service has been taking care of my KitchenAid appliances across two counties for over 20 years. I have never had anything but completely positive interactions with them. From my dishwasher to my refrigerator to my cooktop to now my double oven they have been excellent. When I noticed their name is now Flamingo, I was a little concerned that that might fall by the wayside. Never fear, Flamingo is just as exceptional as Fields always was. I had a dreadful thing happen with my double oven: I decided to use the self clean and the bottom oven overheated and blew out the glass. The glass was replaced by Flamingo but I called a local company for the oven repair because I thought Flamingo‘s estimate was too high. But the local company was out here six or seven times and I spent quite a bit of money for them not to figure out the problem. I decided to call Flamingo back and I am so thankful I did. Their original estimate was quite a bit higher but thankfully Darrell kept troubleshooting until he found the real problem, and adjusted the bill down accordingly. I am so thankful for Darrell and his tenacity in finding out what the problem was, an obscure part tucked in behind things. After two years I actually have a working double oven just in time for the holidays! Additionally, their communication is exceptional, and they give an accurate timeframe of when the technician will arrive. Then they text 30 minutes in advance to let me know when they’re coming. All around excellent experience and I won’t use anybody else for my appliance repairs.“
