“My opinion of Dr. Jill Sagona has NEVER changed. She is one of the BEST EYE DOCTORS in SWFL!! I found her 12 or more years ago and stayed with her! Her staff even went out of their way to give me two references for other eye specialists (to accommodate my insurance needs)! I chose one and he adored her as much as I do. He prescribed a pair of lenses and I had the prescription filled (2023). But I still wear the lenses she prescribed during the pandemic. Because HER lenses are THE BEST! “I’ve been doing a lot of “adulting” lately and decided it was time to update my prescription. I’m so glad I went to VanBuskirk Optician.! The staff is super nice, punctual, and just plain affable. The office is spotless, in a great location with easy parking, and they have an awesome selection of frames.

Dr. Salvatore DeCanio was absolutely wonderful. He’s patient, kind, and you can tell he truly enjoys his work. He improved my vision tremendously with a new prescription. He even had me test new contacts for a week and then come back for a follow-up to see if anything needed adjusting. He tweaked them just a bit - and wow, I cannot believe how sharp my vision is now.

I always get a little anxious at eye exams, thinking I’m going to give the “wrong” answer when asked, “Which is better, 1 or 2? A or B?” But Dr. DeCanio never rushed me. He repeated the choices as many times as I needed so I could be sure. That patience made all the difference.
