“This review is based on training for 6 months for myself and my kids on BJJ. Essence BJJ is a great place to train and learn BJJ. The instructors are very nice and approachable. The gym is kids friendly and their classes for kids are designed for the kids to have fun while learning. Everyone at the gym has a great attitude and there is not the "mucho" attitude. I highly recommend Essence BJJ to learn and train BJJ.“
“Dae Han is great! The instructors are patient and positive, and they do a wonderful job differentiating each class so students at varying levels can participate. I appreciate that classes are focused on having fun coupled with learning physical skills and self-discipline, as well. They’re organized and communicative, as well. We have had a very positive experience since our son started taekwondo about six months ago and would recommend Dae Han for any family looking to start martial arts with their child.“
“My son has gone here for two years as part of the Little Dragon class. I cannot recommend this place enough. The Shifus are an answer to my prayers. They have the perfect combination of discipline and grace to keep it fun for the younger kids. They teach KungFu but more importantly teach the kids how to be good people. I drive from Concord to this location and the Pleasanton school because of how this place is run and because I want people like these Shifus to help shape my kids into good human beings.“

“My daughters are learning Kung Fu and thriving at One Tribe with Sifu Mike, Sifu Luke, Master Barbosa and all the wonderful sijehs and sihings. They are excellent teachers and are able to connect with each student, helping them improve their physical and listening skills while teaching them values of respect, integrity, and kindness.Standouts for me at this school are the Sanda/Sanshou kickboxing sparring for kids, the seminars and family events, and the strong female role models.As a parent, I’ve watched my daughters be inspired to do better and have more confidence. As an observer, the classes are fun and the Sifu’s are engaging, reasonably strict, and also have a great sense of humor.I highly recommend one tribe for their excellence in teaching Kung fu and for their wonderful and welcoming family atmosphere.“

“I moved from pleasant hill California to Austin, texas, and have not been able to find a taekwondo classes as Powells tae kwondo classes. My son and I cried like to babies because we knew nobody was going to be a good coach like him. Also miss Amy is amazing. When people ask my son what do you miss the most. He will say master Powell. He teaches the kids, but also he adopt them as their own. They form them in life and give them plenty of good advice and recommendations every day. The prices are really affordable in comparison to others, and the quality is the best in all the bahia area. In 4 years that my son was in there he learn and improve his ADHD behavior as 100 percent.“

“Sensei Berg is not only a phenomenal martial arts instructor, he has helped me become a better person in every facet of my life, through learning to practice Aikido and the concepts embedded within it. He looks after his students like a caring father, and helps us understand our place in the dojo, in our community, and in our life. He does this gracefully and subtly, yet effectively. I notice myself remembering advice given to me during Aikido class that came in handy at my workplace, with my interpersonal relationships, and much more.I can't say enough about Aikido of Alamo, but practicing something where so often I find myself lost for words, seems pretty darn valuable to me. It's a safe, egoless space, where I know I can come to at the end of a long day and see familiar smiling faces and forget about everything but training for the time being.Please, come take a class, we all would love to see you :)“

Sensei Tom is very disciplined and fun with the kids and adults who take the classes. If you have a kid whom you want to really learn how to defend him or herself against anyone trying to harm them, this is the class. Best Sensei ever as my daughter says!“
