1500 S Main St, Walnut Creek“I dropped in for the 12:15 PM open mat on Saturday. Vini, his students, and the front desk staff were all incredibly welcoming. I had some competitive rolls with his students and was soundly handled by Vini, the owner. He was also kind enough to work on a few things with me after the open mat, which I really appreciated. Looking forward to coming back.“

4300 Sonoma Blvd unit 200 A, Vallejo“Such a great place for kids! The environment feels very safe, and the instructors (shout out to sensei miro & wifey) are patient, friendly, and professional. My son was welcomed right away and looks forward to every class. The staff truly care about the kids, not just teaching jiu-jitsu but also building confidence and respect. I’m so glad we enrolled him here, it’s been nothing but a positive experience!“

Next to McDonald's, 2525 Springs Rd, Vallejo“I'm a student here right now, and I can honestly say that my confidence and just feeling good about myself have gone way up since I started. But it's not just my attitude that got better, the discipline and the feeling of being part of a team here are just as awesome. The instructors really care about us and teach us to be respectful, which makes every class hard work but also super fun. The whole place, from the Masters to the other students, feels like a second family and is always welcoming. If you want to grow as a person and get great martial arts training, you should definitely check this studio out.“
3:45 - 8PM
1516 Solano Ave, Vallejo“Our family is driving home from a U.W.T.A Nationals Event in Reno. The event was well planned, well organized, we all had a safe, family friendly good time and learned some valuable lessons about competition and good sportsmanship. While reflecting, I thought I invented a new word, unbullyable, but as it turns out, it’s actually already a word-kinda.
It’s a concept that others have already written books about. Nevertheless, when i think about how can we foster a generation of unbullyable children? I automatically think of Soaring Eagles Tae Kwon Do Academy.
Soaring Eagles TKD Academy has helped Tikim and I raise up two certified unbullyable daughters. We are so grateful. #letsgoeagles!“
3 - 9PM
3413 Mount Diablo Blvd, Lafayette“My daughter has never been one to “yay let’s go do a high core physical activity “ kind of girl, so when I told her I wanted her to try a karate class she wasn’t too happy with me. Four months later and after that one class and she’s loving it! She can’t wait for class day and I can see her getting stronger and more and more confident with herself! Sensei Tom is very disciplined and fun with the kids and adults who take the classes. If you have a kid whom you want to really learn how to defend him or herself against anyone trying to harm them, this is the class. Best Sensei ever as my daughter says!“

I have more confidence and I know I can defend myself. I’ve made so many friends here and definitely keep doing it. Thank you Gustavo Junior and Gustavo. You guys are great teachers.“

425 Military E, Benicia“My daughter is 6 and has been a student at Vallejo's taekwondo for two years now. It's so amazing to see her progress and grow in the art of taekwondo. They are firm but fair and also allow for a little fun and silliness. I really appreciate the way they teach and work with kids of all ages. This school teaches discipline and respect and accountability which is such a rare thing to find these days. And they are so reasonably priced for what they provide. Kwon Ja Nim is great with the kids without being too firm or too lenient and Maam Debbie takes a personal interest in the kids as well. This class has taught my daughter so much and I highly recommend them especially if you, like me, have a high energy child that needs the outlet. Taekwondo is a real life skill for my daughter and I'm excited to see how much she grows and learns from them.“
“My daughter and I both train with Omolu Capoeira Walnut Creek and really love it. Uri and Quokka are both very thoughtful and patient teachers and the classes have a ton of variety to help keep things feeling fresh.“
“My son grew up to be a kind, respectful, confident, funny, strong yet gentle man. I thank Master Powell, under whose tutelage he was for 5 formative years. Master Powell was a powerful role model. A brilliant martial artist - beautiful to watch, a wonderful, loving teacher and super funny to boot.“
“Grandson has learned so much!. Andrew just completed his testing and is now a blue belt! Amazing . Any parent even thinking about putting their child in a Karate class look no further. This is the place!“
“It's a really good gym I have been there for about 5 years it is a really good place I would recommend“
3:30 - 8:30PM
1511 Sycamore Ave C, Hercules“I just wanted to share a little bit about my experience with Solis. My 6-year-old son has been attending classes there for over a year now, and it has been such a positive experience for him. It's a perfect outlet for him after school, providing him with great exercise and a chance to burn off some energy.
But it's not just about physical activity – the instructors at Solis do an amazing job teaching discipline and encouraging good behavior. They consistently talk to the kids about how important it is to behave well at home and in the studio, which is a wonderful reinforcement of the values we teach at home.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with our choice to enroll our child at Solis. It's been a fantastic experience for our family.“

“Our daughter started in the Tiny Tigers program, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Every instructor is disciplined, patient, and exceptional at making classes fun and engaging for young children, and the staff is always warm, accommodating, and flexible with make-up classes. In less than a year, we’ve seen an incredible improvement in her focus, discipline, respect, and confidence—not to mention they throw the best birthday parties!“
