“I can’t say enough positive things about working with Ground Up Builders, and my project manager Amir Afuta in particular. From my first introduction to Amir and the company, I was impressed by the level of knowledge, professionalism and genuine warmth he brought to the project. In the early stages, he listened to my hopes and concerns related to my substantial condo remodel, and he worked seamlessly with the designer based on his extensive experience as the design took shape. Then, throughout the demolition and construction process (which included taking the kitchen and large primary bath down to the studs), Amir was consistently on-site to supervise, and he was extremely on top of the details of the project. With all remodels, especially those in older buildings like mine, there are unexpected hiccups and challenges that result from things like geriatric plumbing systems. In these situations, I quickly came to rely on Amir’s calming presence and confident demeanor to relieve my stress about whatever obstacle had arisen. No matter what was going on, he had a plan leading to a solution. And if I had more questions later, I knew he would pick up if I called. My project has been completed for a few months now and I’m thrilled with my new home. All of the work was done beautifully and with great attention to detail. I have to say, the place looks amazing – a result well beyond what I had originally envisioned thanks to our wonderful team. Special shout-out to Amir’s full-time crew as well as specialist subcontractors – they were all warm, friendly and patient with all of my questions along the way. I’m so grateful to have worked with Amir and his team – I can’t imagine undertaking another project without him, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Ground Up Builders.”
