Jeff Speakman's Kenpo Pasadena
“I have nothing but great things to say about Kenpo Pasadena. My daughter has been enrolled in karate a little over a year now. She’s built so much confidence, and her behavior has improved and she’s shown so much growth and consistency. Not only is she learning self discipline and confidence, she’s now apart of a community that encourages her, and shows her respect, self discipline and encouragement. Sensei Anto and sensei Marine are amazing and really make you feel like everyone is family. My daughter enjoys Sensei Dominic, sensei Aram, and sensei Vaughn. All the best! Kenpo has made us feel part of a strong community and has made us feel supported in many ways. Ms.Natalie also is so attentive, kind and really goes above and beyond. We plan to stay with Kenpo Pasadena for a long time.”
Tommy Chavies' American Kenpo Concepts
“I was led to American Kenpo Concepts more than a quarter century ago when I saw the Kenpo movement of a student. As a result, I went in search of the student’s instructor. I visited several American Kenpo Karate schools in search of the Kenpo movement to no avail. My persistence to find the instructor eventually led to Mr. Tommy Chavies school - American Kenpo Concepts. I observed a class taught by Mr. Chavies and I observed the unique Kenpo movement I was intrigued by.
Since that time, I have been fortunate to be a student under the tutelage of Mr. Chavies. The study of American Kenpo Karate has led me to clarity in all facets of daily life as well as in the understanding of the Kenpo Alphabet of Motion applied to a combative situation. At this point in my study, I have discovered that Kenpo movement imagined within a combative situation could be effortlessly applied using continuous motion, comparative analysis and creativity.
The study of American Kenpo Karate as a student of Mr. Chavies has led me to appreciate the profound perennial study of the art which always stretches my thinking. I want to express my sincere thanks for Mr. Chavies' guidance. To be honest, simple words don’t quite capture the depth of my appreciation for everything he’s taught me.
If you want to be ready for any environment you may encounter within you, on you or around you, join us at the Studio and find application for the physical alphabet of motion you know, learn to be creative with motion, learn to have fun with motion, learn from a Master of the Art and discover the benefit of being flexible in thought and action.”
