Ray Armijo Studios offers incredible training at a cheap price with no contracts. The studio is not glamorous, but shows the dedication of the students. Younger students are encouraged to excel. Adults learn and improve skills, with all egos checked at the door. The instruction comes from a wonderful, loving, and influential teacher who emphasizes humility, strength without fists, and that fighting is a last resort. The parking lot, however, leaves a lot to be desired.
The studio is NOT glamorous but you can see and feel the dedication of the students from there. Younger students are encouraged to try their best and excell in all faucets of their life. Adults in the classes attend to learn and improve skills, all egos are checked at the door. The parking lot does leave alot to be desired. Lines can't be seen very easily and some other patrons of the little shopping strip make up their own parking rules...
My sister got her black belt here, my two younger brothers, their blue belt. I wrestled in h.s. (all varsity) attended USA Wrestling tournaments in the summers, and they all put up a pretty good fight whenever we scuffle for fun, overall I'd say they're teaching them the correct techniques here. Their stand up striking and defense is superb, their grappling (for not being wrestlers) is pretty damn good too!
