“This place is a hidden gem. It is located in the plaza all the way in the corner. The front office is very kind to you in that they respond with a smile which I really appreciate, even on the phone. My last visit here with Ryan Funai was amazing. He was very knowledgeable in caring for my eyes by lowering the prescription that my previous ophthalmologist had put me on. It immediately allowed my eyes to rest because even though the prescription was not as strong, I was able to see better. He was also very wise in terms of the anatomy and physiology of the health of the eye. It was sad to see him since has moved on from this location. The technician who did intake for me was very nice and efficient. She definitely knew her stuff. However, I think it may be a bit too sterile in that she was too efficient that any personable, bedside manners with patients were lost in the process. I felt like I was being whisked away from one machine to another without a chance to catch my breath. Dr. Yim, the owner of this place, did have excellent bedside manners. He greeted me, allowed me to talk, as well as informing me of what was going on with my eyes. He had an excellent tone when speaking to me, almost radio-like ASMR quality. He really shines when he asks which lens is better, "1 or 2?" He was not condescending at all and was very personable in that he meets you where you're at in terms of understanding. He does a very good job of "accommodating" you (pun intended) throughout the process of an eye exam as well as recommending additional services that is covered within your service to make sure your pupils are in great health such as a pupil dilation follow up. The optician, Laura, was very nice to me and did not try to hard sell me on any optical wear. I felt like I could decline at any moment. She answered all my questions patiently. Overall, I would recommend coming here for your eye exam if your insurance covers it.“
