SoCal Eye of Long Beach is one of the oldest and most trusted ophthalmology groups in the United States, with over 55 years of service excellence. Established in 1964, they are the preeminent Long Beach Ophthalmology practice serving the Long Beach, Cerritos, Garden Grove, and Huntington Beach communities with offices in Lakewood and Los Alamitos. SoCal Eye provides a complete line of comprehensive eye care, including Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma Management, Dry Eye Treatment, and elective surgeries such as LASIK Refractive Lens Exchange and ICL. Patients have been impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff, the thorough explanations provided by the leading eye physicians and surgeons, and the use of the latest technology. The practice has received positive feedback from patients who have undergone cataract surgery, praising the smooth and efficient procedures. Recent reviews mention that the staff was professional, testing and consultation were smooth and time efficient, despite some waiting time, which was expected in a busy office. Service was rated as excellent, with some noting that the wait to see the doctor took about 1 hour and 25 minutes, which felt a little long. Patients praised the doctor, especially Dr. Fong, for being outstanding, with great equipment and punctuality. However, some feedback pointed out that the waiting room had a person on speakerphone talking loudly for an extended period, and the optician offered minimal options unless prompted. Overall, the experience reflected a dedicated team committed to quality eye care.
Dr Nhu was friendly, patient and throughly explained the upcoming surgery. She was read my list of questions and answered ALL of them. I am happy with Dr Nhu and would recommend her to patients needing a good surgeon and opthamologist. I felt no pain during surgery and had absolutely no complications afterwards.
12/2021 -Most recent visit- after the one at bottom below: same. Full stars. I have the need for a specific issue to be addressed and the surgeon and staff were most informative about the health of my eyes.I took a few exams and was not feeling my best. They worked with me. They addressed my hesitation and made it seamless.
Very nice and primarily good listeners. First gal really felt my pain when I explained my shortness and not wanting eye exam.
She got a 2 nd person who explained further.
Then the dr. He was phenomenal. Specialist.
This place is top notch. It’s refreshing to find this kind of care and hopeful: there are good practices out there.

It was my first time at SoCal eye clinic. I am a cash patient. I rated my experience as five stars due to the time and attention given to me by Juana Cortes, Refractive Coordinator, & Dr. Pasquali, Ophthalmologist. However, the waiting room was mediocre mostly because of the front office management. It seemed like there were older patients and also elderly patients who had a misunderstanding of the reason for their appointments. For instance, I overhead one elderly gentleman was scheduled to have a dilated eye exam however he was unaware that it was a that it was a dilated eye exam, and he needed to reschedule the appointment due to conflicting appointments.
