“Long overdue review - I've been coming to this salon for the past 3 years and am so thankful I found it! I've been seeing Angelica for hair coloring since I moved to SF 7 years ago. Boy am I happy I found her!!! Not only is she the sweetest to chat with and remembers all the little things you share with her, but is very collaborative in her approach - she listens to what you want and gives feedback when you ask but without being pushy of her opinion and we always land exactly where I envision! She's very attentive to detail and takes pride in using clean hair products and ensuring you are happy with the result before you leave. She knows my hair well at this point and I fully trust her with it. I will follow her anywhere she goes (and I already did, in fact - as she was at a different salon when we first met :)) I work with Lacey for my cuts and she is also so fantastic! I see her around every 6 months and am so happy every time. I really appreciate her knowledge on which styles work best for my face shape and also how I can best style or maintain my hair after the cut. We've played around quite a bit and it's gotten to the point where Lacey just knows what I like and I let her work her magic! And as for the salon space itself - very spacious with high ceilings, super super clean and I love how well lit the space is. I feel very relaxed when I'm here for my ~3 hr long appointments !“

She has kept my hair beautiful and healthy through years of bleach and tones. “There are so many amazing things to say about this special salon. From their stylist to their green principles, I'm just simply obsessed!! I booked a cut and head massage with Kelly. There's always a little worry when you try a new salon and stylist, especially when you have hair that is difficult to cut and a very particular style. First, I've never received a head massage like this before. It helped alleviate so much tension. I'll definitely be requesting for a longer session next time!! She held such great space and has such great vibes. By the end, my hair cut was perfect. Simple and sophisticated. I live in Marin and drove an hr and half round trip from a recommendation and let's just say, it was well worth the trip and will definitely be back. And to top it off, trusting that everything they use is clean and conscious just made the whole experience feel good inside and out. Thank you so much Kelly and Principal Salon!! “Sami is my hair doctor… thee hair doctor! and I’m grateful to have found her. I started going there over a year ago but recently was convinced to join a friend to get my haircut elsewhere. Huge mistake! I went back to Sami within the week to fix the mess. She knows hair and transformed a terrible cut into a style I’m happy with. She’s a pleasure to visit, walk-ins are welcomed, and the prices can’t be beat. I recommend her to everyone!“

(I will only be in San Fran for 3 more weeks. I wish I had found Ben sooner.)“

“Ana has been my hairstylist for about 10 years. She is very skilled and confident in what she does. I personally like that she has an artistic eye and will suggest what haircut or haircolor looks better on you upon request. Her tasteful choice of music playing in the background adds to the general ambiance. Her salon is conveniently located in the vibrant Mission street neighborhood and is easily accessible by BART (get off at Mission/ 16th and walk for 10 min). I have long thick, but fine hair and I color it medium brown. The haircuts I get with Ana are easy to maintain and does not require a lot of styling. I wash it and blow dry and it looks gret. I don't live in San Francisco, but continue to make time to return to Heartzilla, because Ana truly is a rare find!“

“My husband and I have both been going to Eman for our hair for years! I almost always get a cut and color and my husband typically does a fade haircut. He always takes him time to consult on what we want (whether it's our usual or something new) and he seamlessly upgrades our looks each time! We enjoy our time in the chair with him and having time to catch up since our last visit. Eman's studio is located conveniently on Market St, which makes it easy to go during the work week or even easy for us to BART over from the East Bay on the weekend. I would most definitely recommend him if you're looking for a fresh cut and to build a good relationship with your hair stylist!“
