“I will always recommend Affordable Funeral Solutions to anyone who's suffered a loss of a loved one. When my late partner died suddenly, I was without income and needed something affordable to handle retrieving him from the medical examiner's office and having him cremated. I feel so fortunate that I found Affordable Funeral Solutions. I selected a direct cremation and was able to pick up his ashes, belongings (they'd been held at the medical examiner's office), and death certificates all at the same time. They posted an obituary I'd written, which meant a lot to me. I don't want my partner to be forgotten. The staff was incredibly kind and even got a final photograph of my late partner's tattoo of my name before he was cremated, by my request, since I wouldn't be seeing him before the cremation and wanted one last look at it. The staff is wonderful, and they make you feel supported during a very hard time. I'm so grateful for them and will gently suggest them to everyone I know when the time comes. “I wanted to take the time to write a review for services at SD Funeral Services. I don't usually do this but this business especially, Gaby Garza and the owner Edna Jabaget deserve all the recognition for their hard work and most importantly for their compassionate services.

My Grandmother passed away and we needed to transfer her body to Mexico. It is a very complex and detailed process. From day one when my family spoke to Gaby on the phone she was very detailed and genuinely concerned with the integrity of the process. She then helped us with the process the day she passed away and picked her body up promptly and respectfully. Then she took care of all of the documentation involved with the City of San Diego and the Hospice. She was able to obtain the necessary documents including Death Certificates and Consulate permits all in Godspeed. She was well versed in the process and made sure that she had all available info and documents to prevent delays. She was able to get my grandma to her resting place within two weeks and was checking in every step of the way. She is responsive and professional. I am truly impressed with her compassionate nature and her professionalism. She is God sent and we appreciate her and feel as though she is an Angel sent for our comfort and guidance. “We usually take our out of town guests here after an evening docent led tour at the Whaley House. The historical cemetery is small but it is nice to walk around and read about the graves. There is so much history there.

One thing we always point out to friends is the fact that there are still graves under the sidewalk and street. They paved right over them! They have gravesite markers on the sidewalk outside of the cemetery gates.“

Erica in the office was also wonderful and incredibly responsive, making sure all of the logistics surrounding Karen’s niche were handled with care.

The entire experience at Holy Cross was more beautiful than I could have hoped for, but Sabrina was truly exceptional. I will never forget how cared for she made us feel or the role she played in helping us give Karen such a beautiful and meaningful farewell.“
