“This was my first visit to Target Optical. It was by far the best, most thorough eye exam by Dr. Kimberly Chia, and I have had quite a few eye exams in my life. She is the first person who actually asked me to sit at her desk and use her laptop to show her how I use my laptop, so that she could more precisely determine the distance for my computer glasses. Every other place I have been to just had a fixed number of inches they use for computer glasses, and another fixed number for reading glasses, regardless of your size or reading/computer working habits. I must also add, the associates at the optical department are super friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Overall, very positive experience.“

“It was my first time getting fitted for contact lenses, and I'm so glad I had come here instead of anywhere else. The waiting room was spacious with an abundance of seats and exceptionally clean. Prior to my appointment, I was given a thorough questionnaire about my eye and general health. I appreciated this because it demonstrated an interest in the patient's health as a whole, instead of focusing solely on the eyes. I have been to other specialists who haven't taken much time to consider any other health issues, but being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition has completely changed my outlook since that diagnosis has impacted my eyes. I knew even before I had met with Dr. Anaya, that I was going to be in good hands.When it was my turn to go, I was both greeted, and escorted, to the office space where my eyes would be examined. The staff here was very kind and explained everything thoroughly during my pre-exam. This was especially important since I had always been nervous about getting prescription contact lenses (despite using color ones in the past), but the staff here and Dr. Anaya had made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions.Dr. Anaya took the time to answer all of my questions about my eye health, contact lenses, and thoroughly explained my eye's health to me as well. I have worn glasses for years, and I have never had a more comprehensive and thorough exam! It made me feel as though I knew where my eye health was standing, which gave me more confidence and relief than when I had first entered the office! I appreciated Dr. Anaya's recommendations for my eye health, hearing good news is always priceless. Even knowing my eye health was looking good, Dr. Anaya had validated my concerns and was very reassuring.After getting fitted for contact lenses, I went to update my prescription for glasses. I had just gotten glasses the year before, but they had given me a much weaker prescription and corrective lenses - both, weren't doing my eyes any favors! In the end, I was able to try on glasses until I found the perfect pair. The woman who was helping me find my glasses gave me awesome recommendations since I knew what type of frames I had wanted. I ended up loving her selections and left feeling excited and confident about my new glasses' arrival.Everyone here is so kind and attentive and you are guaranteed excellent, informative, care.“

If I have leftover insurance that needs to be used up by the end of the year, he lets me know and I have picked prescription Ray Bans a couple times.“

“Making an appointment for optometry service was very easy via KP.ORG I was able to book a Saturday appointment and that was very convenient for me based on my schedule I saw Dr Chong Yu He is primarily the reason for the 5 stars Dr Chong Yu explained every process to me with exceptionally His communication skills are great He made me feel like he really cared about my optical health and he also made me feel like time was not an issue .... He is the very first doctor that addressed the "freckle" I have in my left eye. I've noticed it since forever I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years and no other optometrist ever mention it I didn't even know it was called a "freckle" lol As a Kaiser member I really appreciate that I have the privilege of being treated by a great optometrist Thank you Dr Chong Yu“
“Mr. Man-Wa Lam diagnosed my misaligned eyes when no other optometrist since the 3rd grade bothered to test me for it, meaning I've gone through a quarter of my life without understanding where a lot of my regular "tension headaches" or double vision have come from. My headaches got so bad, that I went to a doctor, and it was chalked up to seasonal allergies (!). Mr. Man-Wa Lam received his license to practice optometry first in the UK, and then in the US. In the UK, it's a must to be be tested on misaligned eyes on the final exam, he says. Whereas, Mr. Man-Wa Lam noted he was taught about misaligned eyes in America, but not tested on it in the final American exam. If any of the 15+ American optometrists I've seen for the past 17 years caught this condition early on, I would have sooner received the proper prescription for my glasses (which I now need to replace after getting a new prescription just 3 months ago). Instead, I've had varying prescriptions, with higher powers prescribed for my stronger eye, and never the correct powers to correct my misalignment. I am so thankful that Mr. Man-Wa Lam cared to ask about my headaches, and went the extra mile to administer the additional test to identify my misaligned eyes, even though I was only there for a contact lens exam! Wow, superb service. I highly recommend going here! P.S. If you have misaligned eyes, contact lenses are not able to correct for this right now.“

She has excellent clinical skills and a great bedside manner. She's the best.“
“Channon Kao was the best OD i ever had - not only for all the reasons others mentioned, but because each prescription she gave me was better than what any other doctor has given me before or since. Given my high level of astigmatism and poor eyesight, I find it difficult to find a doctor who can get my prescription right, but she did every time. I do not have Kaiser insurance so cannot see her now, though wish I could.“
