“Peter Weeger - owner of WB Homes is the BEST builder I have ever had the opportunity to work with. He is meticulous, and dedicated to quality and craftmanship, while staying in budget and on time. This is a TRUE rarity with builders, most of whom seem to try to take advantage of people. Peter also knows how to build a home that is resistant to fires!!! I didn't even know this was possible. When I first met with him, we met at his office which is on his personal property. His personal home (that he built) is incredible, and you can see and feel the quality of the construction. He also has great taste and his design ideas are wonderful, and stand the test of time! The thing that most impressed me, is not the quality or beauty of his home, but the fact that his home is THE ONLY home that remained unharmed during the devastating Woolsey fire. Every other home in his neighborhood was literally burned to the ground. His home was the only one left standing, and that is solely because of the systems that he installed in building his home to be resistant to fires. This is an amazing feat and a welcome addition to any structure in our area. Peter is easy to work with and very straight forward. He is also a 4th generation Los Angeles native, another rarity, and so he totally gets it. He knows the ins and outs of the bureaucracy that it takes to get things done, especially in Malibu. “Coming from design backgrounds and based in Oak Park where most renovated homes lean heavily Western, my wife and I were initially doubtful that anyone could pull off what we envisioned: an Organic Modern Asian aesthetic fused with Scandinavian calm, accented by our own art pieces.

JRP removed all doubt. They first built our kitchen, which people often say looks like something straight out of a Japanese Michelin restaurant. A year later, we brought them back to rebuild the rest of our home including bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, family room, and backyard patio.
We received every detail both JRP and I could think of, including things most people skip over like kerfed door jambs, mudded in vents, and trimless smoke detectors, and JRP delivered flawlessly. The result is beyond what we hoped for and honestly a bit inconvenient now because everyone keeps telling us to submit our home to Architectural Digest :)

“If I haven’t successfully convinced you into giving McMaster and Hill Construction (M&H) serious consideration for you home remodel, ADU, or room addition project then I wasn’t successful in writing this review. We chose McMaster & Hill for our room addition after receiving bids from four general contract companies. M&H had remodeled our friend’s home back in 2019 and highly recommended them, so we chose them as one of the four companies we requested bids from. By far they were the easiest to work with during the process, and they were also the most responsive during the process. There were several items we didn’t want included as part of the proposal, and a few we were going to do on our own to save money. M&H listened to our wants and concerns and adjusted their proposal accordingly. We didn’t have as good of a response from the three other companies. M&H was also willing to negotiate some of their pricing during the process, based on information we provided. At the end of the bidding process M&H wasn’t the lowest cost, but they showed the strongest desire to work with us, and listen to our opinions and concerns, so we moved forward with them. Due to the agonizingly slow permit approval process, we fell behind on our desired start date, but M&H came to the rescue, and started demolition and did as much pre-permit work that was possible to try and keep us on track for our desired completion timeframe. As it turns out despite many other delays, and permit issues, we still finished the project a couple weeks ahead of expectations. So why should you choose M&H for your project? • They listen to your wants, and concerns and they execute a plan to address them. • Every person you will work with is polite, courteous, and wants you to be happy with the end result. • Challenges that need to be overcome are a given in especially on remodels, or expansion projects. M&H proactively found solutions mostly without any additional charge to us. • The tradesmen they use are the best in the industry. As an example the 25 foot bi-fold door they installed only had a 16th of an inch deviation according the screen company who we hired after the project was over. Per their words “It was the best door installation they had every come across”. • They will keep your project moving on-time, and on-schedule unless it’s something out of their control. • Their pricing is competitive. • They will work with you even if you want to sub out some of the work to other companies. My wife and I are ecstatic with the end result, and we couldn’t be more pleased we choose McMaster & Hill to handle all the heavy lifting. I’m writing this review to hopefully convince you to use McMaster & Hill not because we are affiliated with them in any way. We are NOT. We are doing this because we firmly believe we are helping other with their future projects, by helping you select a top notch contractor, who does the highest quality of work, at a very reasonable price. “Our central vacuum system, which had been running great, was having very low suction and I suspected a clog. In the past I was successful at clearing clogs by using a shop vac to vacuum from the different wall ports, but this time I could not get the clog to clear. I contacted Advanced Homes and scheduled an appt. with Tom. Service Tech Marc (friendly, wore a mask) showed up on time and successfully cleared the clog within the 1-hour time frame covered by the original estimate, made sure our hoses were clog-free, and tightened some fittings on the canister. The service call isn't cheap however their pricing is in line with other estimates I received, and more importantly, they did the job right and got it done quickly. This is a good company and has a lot of experience with central vacuum systems, they're my go-to if any issues arise.“
