After loving the work they did and the team I again worked with John 6 months later to complete major renovations that brought the house out of the 1950s and into the modern day. They updated the drainage, electrical system, plumbing, and bathrooms. Throughout the process I always felt extremely informed and trusted his team and subcontractors! They were all respectful and my dog even loved them all. I was even a bit sad when the work was completed, imagine that. I would highly recommend Hammerschmidt to anyone looking for a contractor for any renovations or builds. The work still looks as new as it did when they completed it. “It is now two weeks out from Casa Utopia completing our home remodel project. We are absolutely delighted with the work and outcome.
The scope of our project went from simple hardwood floor replacement and painting of three rooms, to a complete bathroom remodel which included the relocation of water supply and drains.
Raz was our Project Manager. He maintained open lines of communication, explained every step, and kept the project moving. Previously, our other bathroom remodel took 10 weeks (different contractor). Raz had this bathroom project finished within 4 weeks (with an additional week for the flooring replacement of the other rooms). We never felt this was a side project for them. The team was at our house every morning at 8am, and put in solid hours to get our project completed.
As for quality, things I notice, all the grout lines are straight (wall and floor), the hardwood flooring was cut evenly (no jagged edging), texturing of the walls matches the walls that were not modified. We have consistency throughout.
We need to also mention and thank Nicole, who was our designer. She was very patient every time we changed our mind on a design element. Her quick turn-around on the CAD drawings helped my wife visualize the final project. This gave us the confidence that we were not going to regret any aspect of the final product.
If we had to do this over, we would choose Casa Utopia again. We have already recommended them to several friends.“

In fact, if there's one thing we wish we did differently, we would rather have hired Greenberg Construction's in-house architecture services.

When we ran into obstacles with the city during permitting, Ohad and the Greenberg team stepped in and proactively found solutions, keeping the project moving without unnecessary delays. There were times that I think their intervention actually sped things up with the city!

We're very detail-oriented homeowners, and Ohad consistently met that bar, communicating clearly, anticipating issues before they became problems, and managing the entire project personally from design through completion. He was intensely professional, and he knew how to smoothly work with us as self-proclaimed difficult customers. He helped find solutions to every challenge, and I feel like there were times that he gifted us upgrades because he wanted the best for us. He clearly had passion for our build. The project finished on time, and the quality of the work speaks for itself. First, the counters are large (the island is about 13' x 5') and required seams in obvious places. Second, we wanted to match an earlier, somewhat unusual edge profile.

Manuel worked carefully and patiently with us to achieve the best layout, and the installation crew were master artisans (one has been with Sticks-N-Stones for 30 years). The bookmatch on the island is beautifully done; most visitors assume it's all one piece, because the long seam in the middle is so well crafted.
