“I ADORE this spa! I found it early during my PhD when looking for a couples massage for my boyfriend and I. It was so good, I spent my paltry grad school money on an occasional massage. Prices are super fair for the services offered. I normally get the 1 hr or 90 min full body massage, with deep tissue focus, and leave feeling like a new person. Now, ~5 years later and post-PhD, I’m hoping to come more consistently to help with the stress I hold in my body.

The owner, Hunter, is fantastic. He’s always working the front desk. Today, I encountered an error booking online (first time ever, I always book online) and accidentally ended up booking 2 slots. Within minutes of this mistake, the owner had called me to confirm if I meant to book two appointments, before I had a chance to call them myself! Their attention to detail and care for their clients shines through“

“Regina is the best! 90 mins massage with her, and my body feels brand new. She is an excellent masseuse and resolves all knots/tightness issues and alleviates pain. When those knots open, I truly feel Regina is heaven sent :). She builds a personal relationship and is so accommodating even for my last minute requests. She is very caring and constantly checks if the temperature of the room is OK, if the blanket is warm enough and if the pressure is right. I have noticed this place seems to be not be getting a lot of business, and despite my critical nature, I really am truly GRATEFUL it is here, and I would be just DEVASTATED if it closed down. Yu spa is good for a special occasion, but if you’re looking to get in a weekly soak or a monthly scrub in a quiet, relaxing, non-judgemental environment, this place is HEAVEN. I also appreciate that the steam room and hot tub are kept hot enough to actually be truly therapeutic (unlike Yu spa), and cold plunge is nice and deep. They also have really wonderful scrubbers / massage therapists. So, I have a lot to say about this place as I’ve spent a lot of time there. First of all, I was so incredibly grateful to discover it after thinking Yu Spa was the only Korean Spa in San Diego. Someone AT Yu spa actually turned me onto this place. It is small, it’s cute, it’s chill, rarely overcrowded, and it’s affordable to soak at every week. I do wish they would step it up on a couple of fronts. Number one, it’s not the cleanest place. I don’t like to sit on the toilet, so I’m hovering and ending up looking back at the toilet snd it is not so clean. I know public bathrooms often have “that smell,” but I REALLY prefer a place where I’m soaking my naked body and am forced to walk around barefoot (even in the bathroom) to be a lot cleaner. I get the sense they aren’t big on sterilization, however so far I haven’t gotten any foot fungus or anything!!

Lastly they have ONE SONG they play in the lounge area on repeat every day all day. It sounds like that Bryan Adams song from Robin Hood prince of thieves from the 80s. I find it repetitive and not relaxing. There’s SO MUCH amazing sound healing etc out there online for free.“
