“I moved my 2/3 pug 1/3 pittie-boxer foster fail love bug (Juan Pablo) from Camp-Run-A-Mutt to Paw Commons for doggy daycare.

Paw Commons has by far been the better experience for our pup. First, there is way more space, a great water feature where the dogs who want to get wet can frolic, and there are way fewer dogs (or simply just way more space for them).

My pup stopped wanting to get out of the car at the former place where at Paw Commons, he is super excited to go and jumps happily out of the car when we arrive.

This speaks volumes of the difference in experience he had. The humans at both places are professional and kind, it just seems like the dogs have a little more room to play, jump up on various things, hide under things and of course engage in water play if they want. 10/10. The owner of Paw Commons is very passionate about providing an amazing experience for the dogs. Perhaps something about being a franchise like Camp-Run-A-Mutt they need to get as many dogs as possible crammed in on any given day.

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Santaluz Animal Care and Dr. Laura Johnson! They saved my dog Hei-Hei’s life, and I will forever be grateful for their compassion, skill, and generosity. Our 7 lb. Chihuahua had been wasting away, dropping to 5.5 lbs. due to a severe dental infection. His white blood cell count was elevated, he was in pain, and they also discovered early-stage renal failure. We were terrified, but Santaluz Animal Care went above and beyond. We explained that we could only afford $1,000, and they stayed within budget without cutting corners. They did full blood work, a complete dental extraction, all necessary medications, a prescription diet change, X-rays to ensure no roots were left, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and anal gland expression—all at no extra charge. We were nervous about anesthesia, but Dr. Johnson reassured us that Hei-Hei would do wonderfully and even confirmed his heart was as strong as a younger dog’s. What truly amazed us was their flexibility and kindness. On Tuesday, 02/11/25, they took him in immediately—even though they don’t typically accept same-day emergencies. They also don’t do extractions on Wednesdays, meaning we might have had to wait until Thursday, 02/13/25—a delay he may not have survived. Dr. Johnson was empathetic, kind, and accommodating. My husband had to handle everything alone, and they treated him with so much care and respect. From start to finish, the entire staff showed an incredible level of dedication and compassion. If you need a vet that truly cares and will go the extra mile for your pet, Santaluz Animal Care is the place to go. They didn’t just save our dog’s life—they gave us more precious years with him.
