He started the job on time and finished ahead of schedule. His crew was professional, polite and they cleaned up during the process which was very important since the job was on a busy street that has heavy foot traffic.Jesus was very honest with the scope of work. We discussed options for our project and he came up with a product that would be durable, economical and would suit the needs of the area we were addressing. It had been an eyesore for years and a constant weeding problem that we wanted a solution for. We will be using Jesus and his crew in the near future to address the front yard. When I needed him to come back and make an adjustment to one of the tub's jets, he was fast, responsive, and on-time despite having moved on to another project. His overall design skills are excellent. We're already getting more use out of our chilly SF back yard than ever before. He shows up when he says he will, is good at estimating project costs and time, and is very reliable. I'd happily use him for a future project.“

“There are not enough superlatives to describe the job Excellence Landscaping did to beautify our front yard. The few bushes we had were stressed by the drought, our expansive front lawn had died from the drought, and our driveway and walkway were old and cracked. We decided to do a complete make-over of our front yard and talked to three different landscape companies. We decided on Excellence Landscaping because they were very responsive, had great ideas for what could be done and were reasonably priced. Selecting Excellence Lanscaping proved to be the right decision. They constructed a very attractive retaining wall that has attracted the attention of neighbors, installed papers for our driveway and walkway, and prepared the yard for drought-resistant plantings, including gopher wire, weed screening, a drip irrigation system and decorative rock. What impressed us the most is Jose and Max were on-site working every day, along with 1-2 employees, and finished the job on time and without relying on subcontractors. “Juan and his team did a fantastic job on my backyard renovation. I can't say enough good things about Juan and would highly recommend him for any landscaping work. Mine was a major backyard renovation. We live in the hills of Belmont, which means to even access our backyard, you had to climb up a steep hill from our side yard. Half of our backyard was made up of a large hill, leaving us with little usable space. We wanted to remove the hill in our backyard, put up a new retaining wall (the old retaining wall has been there since the 60s and contains toxic materials), and install artificial turf. We've gotten a handful of quotes before being referred to Juan. Some folks quoted us double the price Juan gave, some had no experience doing such major renovations, and others just flat-out refused to do such hard work. Juan was knowledgeable and responsive, did not illegally require half of the payment up-front just to get on his schedule, and we felt more comfortable given that he was referred to us by our gardener (we've heard plenty of horror stories where contractors took the money and left the project unfinished, so reliability is #1 for us). We were able to get on Juan's schedule the next week. Juan and his team worked really hard, Monday through Saturday. This was really some of the toughest work imaginable: They have to use jack hammers and various hand-held tools to remove a hill made out of stone, then chisel the remaining hill to make it straight and leveled for the new retaining wall. Because all the houses here are built so closely together, backhoes and dump trucks could not access our yard. Juan's team had to use wheelbarrows to haul out all the concrete and rocks out by going down our steep side yard hill. Likewise, all the heavy wooden posts, retaining wall planks, bags of cement, all had to be manually carried up our side yard hill. Juan did the job perfectly and finished in one month. He didn't cut any corners in order and continued working diligently until the job was fully finished. He really went above and beyond by removing as much of the hill as possible to give us the biggest backyard space we could get. Our yard is beautiful! I look forward to working with him again on our next project.“
