I had the pleasure of working with Camas Designs for Kristin & John’s wedding at Saltwater Farm in Friday Harbor, WA, and their floral work was nothing short of breathtaking.
The florals were beautifully designed, intentional, and perfectly aligned with the natural elegance of the San Juan Islands. From the personal florals to the larger installations, every arrangement felt refined, organic, and thoughtfully curated. The color palette, textures, and movement added so much depth and romance to the day and photographed incredibly well in every light. I absolutely loved the loose florals for the detail flat lay photos and reception space, tying everything together from start to finish.
From a vendor perspective, Camas Designs was professional, organized, and a joy to collaborate with. Setup was seamless, and it was clear how much care and artistry went into every detail. Their work elevated the entire atmosphere of the wedding and tied the design together effortlessly!
Kristin & John’s celebration felt timeless and cohesive, and the florals played a huge role in creating that experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend Camas Designs to couples looking for elevated, artful floral design, and I would love the opportunity to work together again.
I highly recommend Terri at Gentry Aesthetics. She did my first ever lash and brow tint and does a great job. My brows look natural and I am hooked on lash tint now. Although I am living off island now I still come over to see Terri. She is the best with your skincare needs.

Our family of four just did a three day kayaking trip in the San Juan Islands. We went from Orcas to Sucia, Matia & back. Our guide was Jacob, and I cannot sing his praises enough! But, I'm going to give it a go...
Our group consisted of advanced and novice kayakers. Jacob treated us all warmly & in a non-judgemental way. He was INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about the local history, trees, plants, tides, currents, weather & animals. He truly was a fountain of knowledge, and gave just the right amount of history and information about all the places we went to. He knew all the hikes to go on and recommended them all to us---and we did them. He also has a keen eye and was always spotting eagles, porpoise, seals, etc.
Our guide was professional, strong, respectful and treated us like experts, even though we weren't. He was efficient with packing and unloading the kayaks. He was great about setting expectations and giving us clear timelines about how long our paddling time would be and what time we needed to be ready to leave by. He was a clear communicator.
We had a magical experience because in three days, we had FIVE orca sightings. I'm 100% serious. This was truly the kayak trip of a lifetime! I cannot wait to come back next season and head out to Patos Island too. Thank you San Juan Outfitters, I cannot recommend you enough!

Can't speak highly enough of this vet clinic. Dr. Sonja is the best - I am on the island for the summer and needed one of my dogs checked out, I was in & out with lab results in under an hour. The techs and desk staff are also wonderful and super helpful with questions about emergency care and living on the island with pets. Very grateful to have found this clinic, thank you Islands vet!:)

My little Macy kitty got sick on the road trip to San Juan Island. Islands Veteran clinic made time for us the day we arrived (even as a first time customer.) Everyone there helped her fell comfortable and got her feeling better right away. They did a great job so Macy & I highly recommends them.
What an amazing find this was on San Juan Island in Friday Harbor. I was too busy while wrapping up business and getting my boat ready for my annual trip to Roche Harbor for the 4th of July to squeeze in a haircut and decided to find a "local" salon in Friday Harbor instead. I looked on Yelp and contacted a couple of salons and then decided to jump on the shuttle and make the 20 minute trip into town. I walked by Local and walked into an incredibly charming and cool salon and Connie was sitting behind the desk and after I asked about getting a walk in haircut she warmly whisked me in, sat me in her chair and gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had. Connie is amazing, the shop is a stones throw from the center of town, great music and space. If anyone is looking for the best haircut in San Juan Island look no further than Connie at Local!

No nonsense, compassionate care! My pup was neutered at Harbor Vet recently and they took very good care of him. The staff is lovely to work with, and clearly knows their stuff. I really like the low key approach and appreciate the low-zero wait times for appointments and when we go in. I am very glad we have this trustworthy option on SJI.
The name is changing to “Island Vitality” but had a 60 minute massage with Laura Bell which was the best massage I’ve had. It was full body, combo of therapeutic and relaxation and awesome! Highly recommend.
Nice facility with a Library. Large dining area used for multiple events. Inexpensive lunches and good company.
They are quite literally the kindest dentists I have ever met in my life (and I have a long and complicated dental history which has led me to many different dentists all over the world).

The first thing that you see is the landscaping. This is well established trees and plants. It's like walking in a garden, it's beautiful. The next thing that hits you is the calm, peaceful atmosphere throughout the property. Our room was clean and nice. No noise from anywhere, which is a big plus for me. Beautiful pool house with hot tub. Areas to sit in. They also have a whole house that you can rent out. Separate from other buildings, is another cute, house, tucked into the trees and shrubs. That is the spa center where you can get the most wonderful massage. They sell lovely spa products and they have this most amazing candle that just is the best. You can't go wrong here. They are located right in Friday Harbor, within walking distance of everything.
