As electrical contractors (Guard Electric, Inc.) being in business for over 28 years, we have had many business relationships with contractors on the island. Schmidt Construction has continually demonstrated a high level of service to their clientele, while also being straightforward and accessible to us as their subcontractor. My wife and I were looking for a place to retire in the Northwest when we made a stop in Friday Harbor to visit some friends. Not only did we fall in love with the island we also loved our friend’s new house. Peter Schmidt was their building contractor. I have previously worked with 4 different building contractors to build 4 new homes for our family in a span of 40 years. This has given me perspective as to what to look for in a good contractor.
