“We worked with Cruz Construction and Jose for an extensive, year-long home remodel, and we are very happy with the result. After talking to over a dozen contractors, Jose immediately stood out as kind, honest, transparent, and easy to talk to.

The scope of work was massive and complex, including nearly 2000 square feet of tile and heated floors, layout restructuring, full electrical and plumbing changes, custom millwork, and the installation of our kitchen cabinets and appliances. This project had many moving parts and also, naturally, required change orders as we made design adjustments midway.

Jose's flexibility was crucial. He was always willing to accommodate our design changes and put his best foot forward to get the job done exactly the way we wanted it. Cruz Construction and Jose take pride in the quality of their work ans craftsmanship.

A major strength we observed was Jose’s ability to collaborate and manage the job site. Since we hired a designer for this project, effective communication was essential, and Jose was great at working with them to prioritize creative decisions. Furthermore, we occasionally had other specialized contractors on site (for masonry repair, countertop installation, and railing installation), and Jose always managed the logistics smoothly, giving them the necessary space and access to complete their specialized work without interference.

“Dave and his crew are fantastic! My furnace went out during our recent cold snap. In less than 12 hours of contacting them, they were at my house to fix my furnace. Upon arrival and inspection, they needed another part. Dave drove from Bothell to Federal Way to bring the part to his technician working on my furnace. By 2pm I had heat again! “This pro is amazing: diligent, reliable, detail-oriented, honest, friendly. He exceeded our expectations. He went out of his way to add special finishing touches. We have a lot of exterior doors - front door, side door, and a total of 5(!) sets of French doors. All fir, all with a natural finish. After 20 years of exposure, they were badly weathered and I was worried that a couple of them couldn't be saved. Derek refinished them all, and their door frames, requiring multiple coats. He also stained two concrete porches. Then he moved inside and repaired/refinished/touched-up baseboards, moldings, interior doors, kitchen drawers, etc. He even re-stained three Adirondack chairs. It took more than two weeks in all. He was very diligent - he redid work when he wasn't happy with how something turned out, and he made sure to get a perfect color match on everything. Unlike so many other contractors: he worked on this job from beginning to end without interruptions; he kept his word about his arrival times and work days: his personal standard for quality were higher than ours; he put in extra time to get the job right; he left us with some of the remaining materials and taught us how to do touch ups on our own. It was the best experience we've had with a contractor in a long time.“
