“Fabulous tailoring experience for my family’s Indian attire for my wedding. My family, a white American family, had never been to an Indian wedding and was feeling uncertain about their outfits which we had ordered online. After some searching, I found Bellevue Alterations and saw that they had done Indian attire before so decided to give them a try. The ladies there didn’t bat an eye; they set to work adjusting the sleeves of my nephew’s Nehru jacket and the fit of my sister’s embroidered choli (blouse), as well as adjusting the waist and clasp of her skirt. They fixed my niece’s lehenga and hemmed my brother in law’s kurta. They took in my mom’s anarkali in all the right places and also adjusted a beautiful beaded Adrienne Papel gown she had bought for the western wedding so that it fit her like a glove. All of the alterations were done well, to our bodies, and done on time. Pricing was reasonable. In all, what I really valued was the peace of mind that Bellevue Alterations offered me and my family from the moment we walked in - their expertise made it clear they knew what they were doing, knew Indian clothes and how their should fit/hang, and knew how to make the needed adjustments to make everything fit everyone and look stylish and flattering. Only thing was that the hours were sometimes a challenge - not having any pickup windows on the weekends was challenging. But, we made it work and everyone felt and looked great in their outfits! I've never had to wait in a line for more than 30 seconds, because the 2 counter/register set up they got goin on is absolutely speedy and awesome. “I've only had good experiences at Lani's, and I highly recommend this shop. I first used Lani's a few years ago to hem some jeans, and the work was great.

I didn't have any reason to go back to Lani's until recently, when I needed to get a wedding/elopement dress altered. I bought a dress online, and it fit alright for off-the-rack, but was very loose in the chest and too long, so I made an appointment online at Lani's and took the dress in.

At the shop, Dora was very warm, friendly, and helpful. She really put me at ease. She knew immediately what needed to be altered and how; she knew exactly what cups I would need for a built-in bra and where the bodice could be taken in. She also has an incredible eye for details. For example, I didn't really notice the extra fabric around my hips, but when she pinned it off to show me what the alteration would look like, she made my silhouette look very sleek, elegant, and balanced.

Dora broke the pricing down for me and let me pick which alterations I wanted (I chose all of them because she showed me exactly what each alteration would look like). She warned me wedding dresses could take up to 3 months, depending on complexity, but she got my dress back to me in exactly 3 weeks to the day.

The dress looks amazing, and I'm so happy with it. It fits like a glove and better than what I even thought possible. The quality of Lani's work is second to none, and she gets it right the first time. I highly recommend this shop, and I'll be a repeat customer.“

“I had a couple pair of pants dry cleaned impressed they looked really good however that was quite expensive. I thought nearly 40 bucks for two pairs of jeans I thought was maybe a little bit pricey. I haven’t had anything dry cleaned in a while so maybe that’s just the current going rate.“

Went in today with two suits, one which didn't fit well (she offered to fix it up), but that I told her I could return; and another, that she pointed out already fit perfect, and didn't need any work done. Any less-than-honest tailor could have convinced me I needed (unnecessary) work done on the latter so I appreciated her honest feedback. “We've tried many, MANY dry cleaners in and around Seattle, and Dexter Dry Cleaners far outranks its competitors. I have had several delicate and difficult alterations done here, including a chiffon layered pant for a wedding, and wow! Beautiful outcome every time. They do require an appointment for alterations now, so make sure to call ahead of time; that said, they are very accommodating for last minute appointments. They also do a great job with traditional dry cleaning service, and we could not be happier with how our garments come out.“

She is quite expensive, but if you need high quality work done then you can rely on her. I only had 6 days before leaving town for a wedding. She charged $150 to take in the waist and shorten the arms of my delicate suit jacket (April 2023). Details like wrist buttons and seam lines were preserved - on the hanger it looked like the original, but when I put it on it fit perfectly. Loads of compliments at the wedding!“
