2109 Spencer Rd, Richmond“Brittney did an incredible job with my very dog reactive rescue, Marley. Before training, Marley became extremely overwhelmed around other dogs, people and new environments, and seemed unsure of how to handle those environments. Now, she has minimal reactions around other dogs, has enjoyed many off-leash adventures and is so much more confident. The biggest change is how much happier and at ease she seems knowing what is expected of her. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Brittney and the difference her training has made!
Impawsible Pups itself is wonderful as well. Marley was always excited to return each week which gave me so much peace of mind knowing how much she enjoyed her time there, and I anticipate having her enrolled in their daycare soon!“

1 E Belt Blvd, Richmond“My dog Nova sustained an injury while out and about and was in a lot of pain. Our regular vet did not have availability to see her, so I called here and they were able to get her seen within an hour and a half. The staff were helpful and showed Nova so much care and affection. Dr. Infantes was great about communicating his thoughts and desired approach, and they kept me informed throughout the whole process. They were upfront about costs, and I appreciated being able to have the required meds filled in-house instead of having to go to a pharmacy.“
“Bottom line: Kasey and the 2SD team are AMAZING! I cannot express how grateful I am for Kasey’s dedication, patience, and knowledge.
Our pup did great in puppy classes, but when he started exhibiting unwanted behaviors during basic training classes, we worked with Kasey 1:1 and couldn’t be more thankful for her help. We’ve learned the obedience, but the biggest help has been learning to shape his behavior and mindset to be a calmer and more secure dog. He would not be flourishing now without her help.
I also appreciate the flexibility in making up classes if you miss one, the experiences with play groups and pack walks, and always being approachable and accessible for questions. The team’s passion is unmatched. 10/10, highly recommend.“

4800 Thalbro St, Richmond“DogServices – the Thalboro location showed me a level of kindness I will never forget. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer and going through treatment, I was worried about how I would manage everything since I live alone, including caring for my dog, Franklin. The team stepped in to help make sure he could still get to daycare by arranging pickups and drop-offs.
But what meant even more was their compassion. They checked in on me and even offered help with things that had nothing to do with daycare — simply because they cared. They even sent Franklin home with a complimentary bath and made sure he got plenty of love and snuggles while he was there.
Franklin absolutely loves going there, and I am deeply grateful for the support they showed during one of the hardest times in my life.
If you are looking for a place that truly loves animals and the people who love them, this is it. ?“

614 Johnston Willis Dr, Richmond“I typically use Google reviews to give good-work kudos for merchants and service providers, but not this time. On Friday I left my nine-year old cockapoo, Cooper, at Holiday Barn (Midlothian) for a three day weekend of boarding, with a bath to be given yesterday (Sunday.) When I went to pick him up shortly ago, it took much longer than usual for them to bring him out. When he appeared, his paws, face, and backside were wet. I asked the fellow that brought him out what happened. He said that during the morning kennel cleaning some water got into his space, and it took longer to bring him out as “ they were drying him off.” He was still very wet (enough to make my car seat wet,) so I can’t imagine how soaked he was *before* the tried to dry him off.) The customer service manager overheard the conversation and asked what the issue was. She told me that, since I had said I would be picking him up at 8:00 am, this was, I guess, somehow excused. I assured her I’d never said an 8:00 am pickup, but rather mid-morning (I arrived just before 11:00.) She then asked what they could do to resolve the situation. I didn’t ask for any refund, but made clear it was unacceptable and needs to never happen again, with anyone’s dog. I don’t know what cleaner, if any, they use to clean the kennel floors, but I can certainly assume that, even if none, the water of a kennel floor was hardly clean. And Cooper had been sitting in it, and putting his face in it. After taking him up to the bathtub to rinse off his face, paws, and haunches, he certainly doesn’t look like he just got groomed.
This is distressing, as we’ve used Holiday Barn for years and have always been satisfied. This experience, however, is making me reconsider. I’ll hope whatever water he may have drank will cause no problems. At any rate, they've definitely earned a one star rating today.
Edit 2-28-26
Despite the bad experience related above, we’ve had so many more good ones we’ve given them additional chances. I’ve boarded Cooper twice, and I’ve had him groomed twice. All were up the standards I expect. As a consequence, I’m increasing the stars to four and confidently recommend you give them a try.“

213 Granite Spring Rd, Richmond“Dogs Day Inn is the best. My dog, Juicey Moosey, is an absolute lunatic, and somehow the staff handles him like total pros. Whether it’s daycare, boarding, or grooming, I always feel good leaving him there knowing they can handle his nonsense and still seem happy to see him.
He always comes home tired, happy, and looking great after grooming. It’s obvious everyone there actually loves dogs (even the wild ones). If you have a high-energy, slightly unhinged dog like mine, I highly recommend Dogs Day Inn. They’re amazing.!“

3510 Courthouse Rd, Richmond“The staff here are so kind and friendly. My dog, Cosette, begins smiling and wiggling as soon as we walk in the door. It is a 'no frills' place but my dog doesn't need a pool or gym equipment. She needs a loving staff and plenty of dogs to play with. It is affordable and they will even bath her and trim her nails for me. She goes to daycare 2 days a week. Because she has so many positive interactions there, she was comfortable being boarded for a few days.“

2100 Maywill St, Richmond“Toby Town RVA is the best! Our dogs absolutely love their time there. We highly recommend Toby Town RVA!“

5912 Lewis Rd, Sandston“My boys Bo and Jet love coming here! When I lived in the city they went once a week and they have also stayed overnight before. Now I live two hours away, but already got a sleepover booked for later in the summer. Only place I trust to drop my dogs off at.
I remember for their fist visit after orientation the staff provided a extremely detailed text of how their day went and pictures which I really appreciated as my pups are a bit hyper and were under socialized prior to me adopting them. The staff helped my dogs work through some stiff interactions on the first day. Overall great people, super knowledgeable and trustworthy.“

“I am struggling to know what to say. I brought my GSD to Mark for behavioral issues and by the end of the evaluation, I felt like I had a completely different dog. I even took him to PetSmart afterwards which is something I would have NEVER done before because of my dog’s reactivity but he was amazing. How we were told to walk him, speak to him, everything worked. He stayed right beside us, didn’t make a noise and even waited in line more patient than I’ve ever seen. Mark was brutally honest and very straightforward but that’s something I needed. What I was doing obviously wasn’t working and I needed help. He broke it down for me, explained everything that wasn’t working and everything that would. Mark gave me hope and I am forever thankful for him.“
