First choice installed my heat pump 5 years ago when the home was built. I had a problem with freezing up. In the mean time I had read to turn the heat on to resolve the a coil freezing. That worked, but it happened again so we turned on auz=xillery heat to mealt building up on th a coil till first choice could arrive. At age 74 my wife or I could even see the fan or other icons on the thermostate. But hitting programming turned the fan on all night.So I thought I do not need any programming at all, Just need the heat, cool and a switch for the auxillerry switch. So I found there were honeywell pro 100 which would work with a york, $75.00 but it would not arrive in time...read full review

We have a York heat pump that was installed for our new home built by Atlantic. We have had a lot of issues with it, although not ideal First Choice had always fixed the issues and has stood by the warranty. I would not recommend York products though.

Had a home build buy Atlantic Builders they used this company to install the central air unit. Sadly, the York unit (outside the house) was placed incorrectly on a suspended base and now the bolts are coming out of the wall because the unit was placed off center. Additionally because it’s off warrenty I have to pay another company to fix their mistake. I was also told by the technician the use of the brackets on my kind of house was unnecessary and it should have been put on a ground base. It’s a scary thing to walk out of your house and see your unit rocking back and forth….
