Very happy with the results; besides patching the closest and getting my bathroom in working order, Matt's team also improved the design for both the floor and tub wall. (The tub wall used to be a mess of rectangles, and the floor had an odd asymmetry.) It was a pretty seamless experience; no communication issues at any point.“

“Great roof replacement job by Eric and the whole Colonial team. I had the roof inspected by my insurance company for possible replacement with Brent from Colonial Contracting present and on the roof with the insurance inspector. The report from the insurance company stated not enough wind/hail damage for anything appreciable above my deductible. About a month later Eric Martin followed up with me as Brent had left the company and Eric wanted to know the background, etc, to see if there was anything else he could do. I appreciated the no pressure conversation and I asked Eric for a proposal to replace the roof since he had all the dimensions and pictures. The roof was about 18 years old and I wanted to prevent any issues. I found the proposal complete with information on the shingles, underlayment, etc., and the cost was very fair (in comparison to some I had gotten). Eric answered all of my questions that I had about materials, etc., and was very professional and personable and I decided to get the roof. Paula and Joe were also great when I went to the office to drop off the deposit and ask a few more questions. Joe kept me up to date with delivery/installation via email which was really nice. Due to rain we had to move the date by a week but the crew showed up on time on the new date, tarped the deck and plants, removed/replaced the roof and did a great clean up job all in one day. I got my Certainteed warranty in the mail within a week. I would highly recommend you give Colonial Contracting the opportunity to do a great job for you too. “A kitchen remodel initiated by sub-floor movement turned into a transformation of "this old house"! There were so many unknowns at the first meeting with Tom. Each challenge was gradually exposed and the layers, all the way down to the soil, revealed additional components to the project (which added the adjoining 2 rooms). Opening a loadbearing wall had only been a dream, but Tom and his guys, Jon and Daniel, overcame ALL of the structural issues and were able to make it happen. The conditions were really rough for them in the middle of the process, but never a complaint, actually only singing! The timing was spot on, even with the extra repairs. Through the "change orders" of correcting the unknown issues as they arose, Dawn was extremely thorough with communication via email so there were NO financial surprises. She gently guided my decisions when I hadn't finalized some choices and even made my appointment with the tile company!The kitchen is the main entrance into this 100+ y/o farmhouse, and now when visitors come in, it's "WOW, NICE KITCHEN!" “I built a home with Richmond American and upgraded the floors. The company they used was executive floors. I know when the builder had a few boards replaced that had been damaged during the construction process by other contractors they called them and while I was home they came in and very neatly replaced a few boards. I was skeptical at first, thinking that they would not match, or fit correctly, but 7 years later there has never been an issue with the repairs and even I can't find them to point out. I had my whole house painted and the painters on the last day damaged my floor with an aluminum ladder and scratched it 1/4" deep in multiple places in my entryway. I had the original floor info from the builder but wasn't sure who to call. I asked the builder for the floor installers name, and they told me "executive floors" and sent my info to them. A few minutes later Margie called and arranged an estimate, and for a few hundred dollars my floor damage was replaced by an clean and diligent working craftsman. The repair looks amazing, the repair man was prompt, on time, and left the area cleaner than when he arrived. If you want new floors, or to repair your existing floors I recommend you call Margie at executive floors in Manassas Va, and I'm sure you won't regret it“

They are very good at coordinating activities and explaining the construction and permitting process. The managers cared deeply about doing a good job. I elected to pull my own permits in Fairfax county and this cost about $300 including the Electrical, Plumbing and Waterproofing permits. I would question their quotes for permitting as they seem to highball those. I'm very satisfied with the work they did and would recommend them.“
