“AC stopped working on a late Friday afternoon. Found Southern comfort heating and Air through a Google search and liked they had a five-star rating.

Called and scheduled the appointment for the same day and our tech Jacob arrived within the prescribed window.

We were back up and running within the hour and Jacob was wonderful to work with. Very knowledgeable, friendly and gave good clear explanations as to what was needed and why.

Honestly I can't comment on the price that we paid because I don't know if it's good, bad or right where it needs to be, I just know that they provided a fast and friendly service.

“I can’t tell you how much help Josh was to me and my wife. He and his crew were very professional and he was very fair with his pricing. Initially, we were just going to change the aluminum to copper wiring from our panel that ran to our AC. I was having some problems with my AC and thought that changing the wiring would solve the issue, and it did insofar as providing clean electricity. Josh pointed out a few things that showed me he really knew what he was talking about because there were quite a few things that were not up to code. Josh isn’t just some electrician you can just find anywhere. He’s a master electrician, and that’s huge if you want a job done right and be up to code.

My AC was rated 40 amp and was on a 50 amp breaker. Also, my Kohler whole home generator has a transfer switch rated at 200 amps but my old panel was only 100 amps, which was not safe. Moreover, the old panel was inside the garage and didn’t provide much clearance, if any, which was also not up to code. Mind you, this house was built in 1965.

After discussing it with my wife, we ended up with a whole new setup. Josh put a new 200 amp panel outside. He also ran copper wire to my oven, which allowed my wife to use both wall ovens because it kept tripping before. Actually, the old aluminum was a contributing factor and was becoming a fire hazard. Josh pointed that out immediately after showing us the actual burn marks the wiring was leaving in the box.

In addition to the oven and AC, he ran more copper to the:
1. Stove
2. Range
3. Furnace
4. Dryer

The new panel is easily accessible, and Josh pulled all the permits. The city had the previous owners listed instead of us when Josh was trying to connect the power from Centerpoint. He had to go to the city twice from our house, physically drive there bc nobody was being helpful on the phone, and get the city to correct their mistakes in person.

He stayed until Centerpoint finished the job at 9:30 PM. He wanted to ensure everything was working properly before he left. I have some additional investment properties that Josh has worked on. He’s definitely my go-to guy and I’ll never use anyone else.“
