I originally reached out because my HVAC unit was making an unusual noise. By the time Armando arrived, I had managed to quiet it down after some troubleshooting of my own—shutting the system off at both the thermostat and the breaker before noticing that applying slight pressure to one of the panels stopped the noise. Even though we couldn’t recreate the exact sound that prompted the service call, Armando never dismissed my concerns.

Instead, he took the time to perform a thorough inspection and noticed a slight abnormality that warranted further investigation. He checked the amperage, coils, refrigerant levels, and other system components, even cleaning the unit while he was there. Most importantly, he verified that the elevated readings he observed during his diagnostic testing were still operating within the manufacturer’s acceptable range before concluding the visit. That attention to detail gave me confidence that he wasn’t simply trying to finish the appointment—he genuinely wanted to ensure everything was functioning properly.

What stood out most was his professionalism, patience, and willingness to educate me throughout the entire process. I asked plenty of questions and even shared a few theories about what may have caused the noise, and he took the time to answer every one of them respectfully and thoroughly. He explained what he was checking, why it mattered, and how I could properly maintain my system as a homeowner.

Ironically, Armando sold me on Houk’s services without ever trying to sell me anything. His integrity, transparency, and commitment to doing the job the right way spoke louder than any sales pitch could have. That level of service made it difficult for me to imagine using another HVAC company in the future.

This experience was also consistent with the excellent service I received from two Houk technicians who balanced my system a year ago. What stood out most was the thoroughness of the inspection. Every component was carefully checked, cleaned, and tested, and nothing felt rushed. The entire process was documented with photos that were sent to me afterward, which added an extra layer of transparency and confidence. It was reassuring to see that level of attention to detail, especially knowing how critical the system is heading into the hotter months.

They also shared helpful tips to keep the units performing at their best, which we truly appreciated. This time, for whatever reason, only two of the three units needed filter replacements, even though I had all three ready. That ended up saving me one unused filter for the fall replacement, which I appreciated. There was no upselling or pressure, just honest feedback on the system’s condition and practical guidance for maintaining efficiency.

I should also note that in a prior year, Hisham personally helped me replace all three outdoor units when the original HVAC contractor had failed to register the warranties with the manufacturer and coverage was declined. That level of ownership and follow-through left a lasting impression.

We have been using this firm for these checkups for years, and this is the first time I am writing a review, although I should have done it much earlier. That, in itself, speaks to the consistency of their service.
