“Dr Gregg Farmer is the best. We took our 12 year old cat Bogie to a vet that was located closer to our home bc he was losing a lot of weight. They did all sorts of tests and removed some bad teeth but he didn’t improve. Took him to Dr Farmer for second opinion and found out he was diabetic and had thyroid issues. We changed his diet per Dr Farmers instructions and out him on thyroid meds and he’s now back and healthy running up and down the hallway again. The other vets office charged me a lot of money for tests (and retesting) which they did “in house” but they never recommended anything or said blood results showed any problems. They didn’t really know what the problem was and said “we will just keep monitoring”

Our family has been going to Dr Farmer for years- he’s a super vet - really really knows the science of animals and animal medicine -we tried new vets after a move but we will be staying with Dr Farmer going forward. Highly recommend him.

November 2025 update!
Dr F is back in Austin and we are so grateful. Our older cat has special needs - diabetic , thyroid, blindness from detached retina, and sometimes recurring sinus bacterial infections and Dr Gregg Farmer and his team at the Animal Medical Center of Austin has been right there to give us great veterinary advice expertise and guidance. Our goal is to keep our cat happy and comfortable as long as possible. He’s doing really great and is happy and enjoying his little cat life with our family. We couldn’t do this without Dr Farmer’s years of veterinary practical excellent experience. Truly the best vet we have ever been to. Highly recommended.“
