“I originally had LASIK back in 1999 and it was amazing but, just like the doctor shared, when I turned 45, my vision began to change. I always knew another enhancement was an option but this year I decided it was time.I first thought I would have the procedure done through my regular eye doctor (who offered vision enhancement procedures) but when they failed to call me back after numerous attempts to learn more, I decided not to trust my vision to someone who couldn’t even return a phone call. At that point, I decided to call Wang Vision Institute. I selected the Wang Vision Institute because I knew they were the best in town. When I called, they actually remembered that I had called the previous year to ask questions. It was the exact opposite experience. It was warm, friendly, and it inspired my trust and confidence.The initial examination was very thorough. After the exam I met with Jake Wysiadlowski, OD and he walked me through my options. I never knew there was so many! He made a recommendation and helped me make a decision on what would be best for me.I next met with Cameron Daniels, my Surgical Coordinator. Cameron walked me through the logistics and the pricing. At no point did I ever feel pushed or pressured to select the most expensive option. In fact, given my particular situation, they actually recommended one of the less expensive options. They worked with me to construct a plan that used both my HSA and my Limited Purpose FSA to cover the cost.Before the surgery, I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Abhilash Guduru, my surgeon. Everyone along the way explained what to expect, set realistic expectations for my vision and the recovery, and made sure I had the opportunity to ask lots of questions.I arrived at the surgery center on the day of my procedure and everyone was super nice and friendly. The environment really put me at ease. Once again, everyone clearly articulated what to expect and gave me the opportunity to ask questions.I could not have been made to feel more comfortable during the time leading up to the procedure and during the procedure.The procedure did not take long and at no time did I experience even the slightest amount of pain.I was given clear instructions on how to care for my eyes during the few weeks after the surgery and I have been following their instructions exactly. I have had no issues or discomfort whatsoever. The evening after the surgery I was amazed at how my vision had been corrected and restored.When I went back the next morning for my follow-up appointment with Dr. Guduru, my vision had already been restored to 20/20. I could not be more pleased. I have already recommended the Wang Vision Institute to my wife and I will do so to anyone else contemplating vision enhancement surgery. I would give my team the highest marks in every category. To those who might be apprehensive, I would say that it was easy and painless and that the end result of seeing was well worth it and life changing. I put my glasses in a drawer and am now able to see so much better- especially at night and while driving. My experience and results have been exactly what I had hoped for.“

“If you need eye care, check them out. If you have really bad eyes - such as irregular astigmatism or dry eye - ask for Dr Jeff Sonsino. I had a corneal specialist telling me for the last two years that I would need corneal transplants to get clear vision again. I saw Dr Tran at Vandy and she sent me to Dr Jeff for a scleral lenses. Long story short, within 4 weeks of my first visit, I was seeing 20/20 in both eyes with no blurriness. I can drive again at night and in low light with confidence and no starbursts from oncoming headlights! They also now have an office in Franklin by Starbucks.“

“As a patient of Dr. Politzer's for over 20 years, I can say that he really cares about his patients and literally does things that other say are impossible. I have a hereditary eye condition that causes low vision and complete color blindness (rod monochromatism) that for years as a child and teen had been treated by the head of ophthalmology department at Vanderbilt. That particular doctor told me when I was in high school after asking whether I would ever be able to drive a car that there were things in life I would never be able to do. Furthermore, he told me to get over it. A year or two later, I was referred to Dr. Politzer by the Vocational Rehabilitation department for an evaluation. While things with Voc Rehab didn't work out (I made too much working a near minimum wage job for them to help), it did get me to Dr. Politzer, which quite literally was a life changing event. His philosophy is that there is very little in life that a person with low vision cannot do - it's just a matter of finding the right solution. He prescribed what is known as a bioptic telescope for me to use while driving and I was trained on how to use the device effectively before being sent on to NRH for state required driving lessons for licensure. I have been driving for almost 20 years now thanks to Dr. Politzer! For most folks, driving may not sound like a big deal, but in suburban Middle Tennessee, there is no large scale mass transit and without the independence of being able to drive, your work options are limited. Being able to get around on my own opened up a world of possibilities to me, and for that I don't think I can ever thank him enough.“
“I had appointment on 6/30/2020. Dr. Van Hoven is GREAT!!! He went over the pictures of my retina, eye pressure and took Time to make sure that with my new eye prescription--I would be able to read the smallest letters on the back of a Credit Card. Just wonderful, patient. HAS a personality and funny. Just a joy to visit. Michelle and Melinda in the EYEGlass department are helpful with helping you to pick out a pair of glasses and they take their time with you. I receive great care with my precious eyes.
