I saw Dr. Michael Durocher for the first time, and from the moment he walked into the room I could tell something was very different about him. Later in our conversation, I learned he used to be an ICU nurse. That connected all the dots for me.
As a registered nurse myself, I immediately recognized the difference. He didn't just perform an eye exam. He assessed me as a whole person. He took the time to listen, explain what he was seeing, answer every question I had, and make sure I actually understood everything. His critical thinking, attention to detail, and genuine concern for his patients were evident throughout the entire visit.
Healthcare needs more providers like Dr. Durocher. His clinical knowledge is outstanding, but what impressed me most was his ability to make a patient feel heard instead of rushed. This was, without question, the best experience I've ever had with an optometrist, and I would recommend him without hesitation.
The other staff was amazing as well and all vert kind and super knowledge. Both the front desk individual and the technician were in training and each of their preceptors were super kind, patient and very thorough in their training. I was very impressed!”
