“Last year we purchased a home on Lake Keowee SC. Frankly we bought the property for the lot/location, not particularly the house which needed a lot of work. We interviewed several potential remodeling companies including Rob Young, owner of Heritage Custom Builders. It was immediately evident to us that Mr. Young had the knowledge and experience necessary to tackle what we considered to be a monumental task (our least favorite part of the house). After speaking with several of Rob’s references we were confident he was not only capable but honest, highly organized, dependable and reliable. These elements weighed heavily on our decision because it would have been impossible to live through the remodel process which was estimated to be 6 months. More concerning was the fact that we live in Utah. A major wall was being removed, a staircase was dismantled and replaced and our wood floor on the main level had structural issues and was tarnished from aging.
We gladly moved out after Rob assured us he would keep us informed every step of the way through his direct communication and his interactive website (photos and descriptions were frequently posted). Our key focal point of the project was the new staircase design which was outsourced to Heirloom Companies (Compobello SC) who create custom hand forged and hand crafted wood and metal works. Our interior design guru Mr. Rob White (inside home Maplewood N.J.) and Rob Young collaborated together to craft awesome design ideas to compliment and tie together the entire project.
We couldn’t be more pleased and overjoyed with our experience with Rob Young and his team. Rob delivered on every one of his promises from start to finish and then some. He and his Heritage team exceeded our expectations and we can’t recommend Rob and Heritage Custom Builders more highly. An additional bonus is we now have a new life long friend in Rob Young.

“I wish our rating system would be ten stars instead of 5, but since it is not, I'm giving Frank F*** and his Southern Building Construction, Inc crew 5 stars X 2. It was hard for me being widowed recently, to make my decisions on replacing the siding on the house. My husband always handled those things. Frank knew exactly what to look for in the colors I was considering, the quality level of the siding to use and even the time it would take to finish the job. The man knows his business and is honest. What I appreciated about him was the fact he didn't push on me the most expensive products. His estimate on the project was very reasonable. I had a lot of damage behind the old siding and every bit of it was repaired, and the whole house was wrapped before the siding was applied. The crew worked efficiently and professionally and were very friendly. I appreciated that they played good music while they worked, and there was no alcohol, smoking nor bad language used while on the property. Made sure they cleaned up after themselves when done.Frank is not only honest, but he is thoughtful. He enjoys doing jobs for the elderly because he sees how often companies take advantage of us. He takes time to talk and discuss our decisions and to make sure we understand every step of the job to be done. He's a patient man who doesn't seem to be bothered with numerous phone calls having to repeat himself or calm the anxiety of this old woman. “John and his team design & produce what I call a “truly custom kitchen”. Most if not all other companies that claim to be custom, only offer prebuilt modular size box / rectangular units that they try to fit to every application.
This is not the case with John & Factory Direct Custom Kitchens – these are custom in every way. The height, depth & width can all be made to fit – plus can be built around anything! John came to our home & literally started with a blank screen to design our kitchen from scratch. He first talked thru our ideas but mainly worked to find out what would be most important to get from a new kitchen. For us it was to add additional seating, a sink, storage space for grill accessories, cabinet space, drawer space, meat prep space at least 18” wide and finally somehow incorporate our grills (Komada Joe & Lone Star Grillz pellet grill).
John came up with a bar design to add seating (which we had never considered) keeping the depth to a minimum so it didn’t take up so much space. We got our sink, the grills all fit, plenty of prep space, cabinet / drawer space and bar seating.
The installation went smooth and the project turned out great! We enjoy it so much and it really gives us two kitchens which is handy during the holidays (when using a patio heater). It’s also been very durable – no trouble at all so far. I highly recommend these guys. I would do it all again and will if we ever buy another home.“

“I bid 3 companies to encapsulate my crawl space Reps from two contractors took outside measurements and entered the crawl space a few yards and looked around. Angelo Gazzo with Encapsulation Professionals went in the crawl space and surveyed the entire space. In doing so, he noticed I had a broken drain pipe at the opposite end of the house that could not be seen from the crawl space door. The broken pipe was draining the kitchen sink and dishwasher into the space apparently for a long time. The other two contractors never saw it.

I asked Angelo about his experience and how he learned the trade and was impressed and satisfied that he could do the work. The quotes came in within a week and E. P. price higher above the mid-point between the other two contractors and his proposal and scope of work were detailed and easy to follow. He did exactly what he said he would do.

Considering Angelo's initial survey, calling out the broken pipe, experience, straight forward answers and my preference to trade with small local companies, I hired E.P. to do the work.

Every morning, Angelo texted me to say what time he would arrive for work. His hands knew what to do and went to work immediately. They were quiet and efficient and at the end of each day they cleaned up.

The work took three full days and is of excellent quality and materials.

I had a couple issues with the de-humidfier and sump pump that Angelo quickly resolved. Plain and simple, the customer comes first. He is a good businessman.

Regarding encapsulation, It's everything that is written. Over a month of tracking, The temp and humidity in the space is never below 61*F and between 31% and 40% R.H. I can also tell a difference in the living space.

All in all, hiring E.P was an excellent choice. Angelo does what he says and follows through no questions or excuses.“
