“This is the third time I've reviewed this office for Dr. Armando Sallavanti so it won't change much. They are always friendly, respectful, professional and knowledgable. I've been seeing Dr. Sallavanti for 20 years and have always been happy with my care here.“

Geisinger Medical Office Building Wyoming Valley Lab Medical Clinics

“Came here as a student & did rotations on the overnight hospitalist team and also another rotation in labor and delivery. I enjoyed my experience here compared to Wilkesbarre general hospital. Everyone swears by the deliciousness of the smoothie bar (I personally never got it tho). Beware this is trauma center so the ED can be very chaotic at times with long waits for beds but they get to you eventually based on the severity & level of care needed to make you feel better. The labor and delivery ward here is the really good compared to the others I've been to; it also has a Nicu for babies. (But if I had to choose a place to deliver, Geisinger CMC in Scranton labor and delivery is so much nicer but better suited for moms with uncomplicated pregnancies as they don't have a NICU.) My main downside to coming here was how far away the parking lot was & can be challenging to find a closer spot. But to help they do have shuttles that runs till about 4am & can pick you up and take up to the front of the hospital.“

“I would like to express my highest review for everyone affiliated with Lackawanna Medical Group that has taken care of me for 40 plus years. Their care and support for patients from ALL the staff has always been excellent and above par.
In particular I would like to praise Dr. Emma Rubin for her continued care over the years. Dr. Rubin is thorough in her exams and when difficult questions arise, has always supported additional testing or involving a specialist if needed. Fortunately most of the physical challenges from exam to exam are easily manageable by Dr. Rubin. Dr. Rubin listens and works with her patients to find just the right medication, or dosage to achieve a comfortable outcome. She is not an alarmist. This allows me to attend stress free exams. Summing up, I have been with Dr. Rubin for the past 12 yrs. She has literally kept me GOING all that time !“

Was to large to be recognized on imaging.I know I wouldn’t be here today without them as I don’t know how I lasted through it all in tears now again thinking back.May God Bless them guys..“

“This was my first time coming to this location for my annual womens exam. As I'm sure most women feel, these appointments can be stressful and unpredictable. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. I was not left in the waiting room for more than five minutes before I was quickly taken back to my exam room. The nurse was very polite and thorough when doing my health history. Again, I was not left waiting any more than five minutes before the PA (Chrislyn Cabonilas) came in to do my exam. She was so polite and kind, and for the first time in my life, I had a doctor listen to my concerns and gave me the referrals that I needed. She talked me through the entire exam, frequently asking me if I was doing ok. I honestly believe that if more women had experiences like I did today, people wouldn't dread receiving their yearly exams. Thank you to the amazing staff. You guys rock! See you next year!“

“This post started as one star review and could have focused on the negative things that go on in a healthcare setting. Yes we had a very long wait tonight to be able to get in to get treatment for my wife who had the flu and was very dehydrated. Our wait was well over 4 hours in a very crowded and a very busy emergency room waiting. Area.
My first inclination was to use Google as a way to vent my frustration at how much it inconvenienced us to have to sit there for hours waiting to be called back to treatment.

Then I realized something, healthcare is not about structure It's not about promising certain wait times or wait times like a ride at an amusement park. Healthcare is a people business and it's the people that work in healthcare that make the difference in the lives of those people that need it most.

Granted our emergency rooms are loaded with people who use them as ready care facilities instead of what the true meaning of an ER is meant to be And yes that is something that should be addressed and fixed but that is a bigger problem than what belongs to a single hospital.
The folks at this facility treated everybody kindly and with respect. What I was most impressed by were the people in the actual treatment area. Once once we got back into the treatment area and were assigned a room My wife's care was immediate and above all compassionate and caring, it warmed my heart. One of the things that was most touching was how our nurse Sherrie treated my wife and me like we were her family. When my wife was sleeping and I fell asleep in the chair in the room she quietly walked in turned the lights off and closed the door so that we would not be disturbed and get some rest until they would get everything back that they needed to make a decision to admit her.

The er doctor was thorough and had amazing bedside manner. She was in the room within 10 minutes after we were assigned a room. In spite of having to cover multiple beds..she was pleasant, patient with us and listened to my wife's concerns and needs.

Every one on the staff at this ER are being pushed to the limit with the closure of a hospital in our area and the financial uncertainty of the only other ER in Scranton, leaving people no choices for care..
This staff tonight was compassionate caring and only put the needs of each patient forward one patient at a time. In a health care setting I don't think you can ask anything more.

So the next time that we want to be quick to criticize maybe we should look back and what health care really is. It's people taking care of people and helping them in a very tough time in their life. Kudos to the staff of the emergency room at geisinger's Scranton.

Granted they could use some work and figuring out proper triage levels in the waiting area for those that need it most do not have to wait hours. Even though it was a long night I would return to this ER again because they have not forgotten that it's the people that make a difference in the lives of others.“
