“We had a bathtub leak into our kitchen below, ruining the ceiling. I called MDM because they do drywall and painting. Dan came out 20 minutes later and assessed the damage and gave us a very reasonable estimate. He sent Andy and Taleishka out to do the destruction and the reconstruction of the drywall. They did a beautiful job. Then they both commenced with the painting, which involved most of the downstairs because it was 1 contiguous ceiling. They gave it 2 coats.
There was no dirt or dust. They covered everything in plastic for the drywall work and the painting. All told they were in and out in 31/2 days. The care and quality of their work is unmatched and the friendly manner in which they did it, is just the cherry in the top. We started out with a disaster and they made it go away.
I will recommend MDM to anyone who'll listen.“

“In a world full of frustration and the trend towards poor customer service being the norm, I feel like I need to give praise where praise is due. We've been using DeSousa Oil & Service Corp. for home heating oil for roughly ten years. They may not be the cheapest in the area, but they've always been a good, family-owned and down-to-earth company with real people when you call (which is a big deal for me) and their delivery drivers are conscientious and respectful. A few years ago, we added propane for cooking and a back-up heat source / our fireplace that heats our basement (and it definitely makes a difference in the rest of our home feeling toasty). This year, we also added our camper to our propane use since I use it as my home-office - I never thought to call them to add it though. We're on monthly auto-fill, and I have a reminder on my phone for every Wednesday to check the propane level since we've never really used it for so many things - and with the super cold temps the past few weeks, it's been on overdrive. But, we were out of town at a funeral yesterday when my reminder sounded - so I quickly turned it off, and then forgot to check the propane today when we were home. Soooo, of course, we ran out of propane this evening. To compound the issue, I've also had a terrible migraine that has me down and out today - so, although I smelled the propane and thought it was weird & checked the stove to be safe, I just didn't think fast enough that we could be running low. Until 5:03pm when I realized the house was colder than usual and I couldn't cook dinner - an hour after DeSousa closed. ?‍♀️ I gave them a call anyway, not expecting much (although worrying about the water pipes in the camper). I left a message and hoped maybe they'd call back, but figured we'd be stuck figuring something else out until tomorrow - and ordered dinner out. Within 40 minutes, I got a call from DeSousa that they were calling a driver and would have him come out shortly! Local, family companies are really underrated. I know sometimes we have to make choices to cut our bills and save a penny everywhere we can, but I can guarantee I wouldn't have had this expertise with a lot of other larger companies. Tonight, I'm extra-thankful to be doing business with a company that genuinely cares about how they do business. Thanks, Desousa!“

“I scheduled a yearly cleaning and maintanence. 2 days later I needed my HVAC system charged.they came back and looked at it but said it was frozen and they would come back to look at it another day. The next day they came back and said they no longer service a syste with that type of freon. If they would service it, it would cost around $1,000.00. So they offered to set me up with their salesman to get a new system.
I called another company and they came, service my system and did not charge even 1/3 of the 1,000.00. They system works great. Not sure UGI wanted to hear this, but they probably lost a 20 year customer.“

“Woke up this morning to no hot water. Looked on my water heater and saw L&M installed it in 2011. Called them and a few hours later they were onsite. Got 15 years out of the water heater, but was time for a new one. They had the water heater on the truck! About an hour later water heater was installed, everything cleaned up, and water lines tested. Great service all the way around.“
