I am stating unequivocally that the doctor has saved my health and my ability to be a happy productive person in the world.I was fortunate enough to have been diagnosed with a Vestibular injury in 2002 - few doctors recognize the symptoms. Until a few years ago, I had no idea that lenses could help with the effects of it. I had known of Dr. Reski, but thought making a trip from CA to Vancouver, WA, was probably unnecessary. After all, how specific could he get? So, I saw one FCOVD practitioner near Sacramento and her exam was so perfunctory that I never filled the prescription.Next, I went to an optometrist near San Francisco who was not FCOVD trained, but understood vision & brain connections. Her prescriptions were so wrong that I couldn’t wear the glasses at all. Finally, my regular optician is trained in vision therapy and he and his staff had taken very good care of me during a bout of Iritis last year. He put a small prism in one lens and I’ve worn his prescription for about a year. I didn’t experience relief from his Rx, but they seemed to be okay.As I continued to wear them, I began experiencing headaches and nausea more often. I work on a computer all day, so eye strain and fatigue would overwhelm me after several hours and all I could do at the end of the day was lie down. The pain eventually got so bad that I finally booked my appointment with Dr. Reski. It was truly the last act of a desperate woman. His unique & thorough examination was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I could tell that he was finding out how my brain and eyes were working together, which was amazing to experience. The way he prescribed the lenses was initially the same as other docs, but then he began trying different additional lenses with prisms in a special frame, asking me how it made me feel and watching me walk. I started out walking stiff armed and, by the last one, my body and gait had relaxed and my arms swung naturally at my side. Now I understand why I’ve stopped wanting to go for walks!!I’m still kind of in shock as I realize how hard life has been since my injury and how much easier it will now be.I hope I’ve explained how huge the positive impact of Dr. Reski’s expertise is on my life. Additionally, his staff is consistently kind, cheerful and helpful. If you find yourself in any of my words, PLEASE make an appointment with Northwest Eye Care. I positively GUARANTEE it will be worth the trip from wherever you are ??“

13140 NE Halsey St, Portland“I have been coming to this practice since I was a child. It is a small and friendly place to get your eyes checked out. I have always paid out of pocket and they are very clear about pricing for everything. They have very good imaging machines and a basic selection of glasses frames. Both doctors are very friendly and personable. If you come here regularly it begins to feel a bit like family. The place is clean and a very quiet waiting room.Since COVID they do have an extra step of washing your hands when you first arrive and they keep some inner doors open for better air flow and still limit numbers a bit. You will need your mask because everyone in medical practices still need masks. They are located on Halsey and have street parking and a very small parking lot behind the building. If you have a large vehicle, I advise parking on the street. For those with mobility needs, everything is level.“

“I have been a patient of Dr. Patel's for over 15 years and he truly is the best. He is so personable and genuine with his patients. He takes the time to ask questions and listen to any questions or concerns you may have. I am such a fan of his that I know take my 3 children to him, ages 11, 9 and 6. He is phenomenal with them and makes them so comfortable. My kids absolutely adore him and afterwards they always say, "Mom, he is so nice!" I would refer him in a heartbeat. He truly is the best eye doctor I have ever experienced!“

He's really caring and takes the time to go through all the process and explaining things clearly. Highly, highly recommend him. The receptionist is another story. I find him quite rude and loves to correct people on how theybshould repsondds and what they should say. But im not there to see him so i just ignore him. He's the main reason I would go somewhere else to get my glasses so i don't have to deal with him.“

They absolutely know what they are doing and even took real images of my eyes to make sure that they were healthy almost like an x-ray. Never seen that before in any other doctor's office. Very quick very knowledgeable and very informative. Clear communication! My last visit of visionworks at the Vancouver Mall set me on the hunt for a new doctor and found everything I was looking for and more here ?“
