AEP disconnected and wouldn't reconnect until she had some repairs done. We had another big name electrical contractor out, they gave us a quote for $5k-9k for all sorts of upgrades, saying everything would have to be upgraded to current code. Apparently things are grandfathered based on what was code at the time... 1958. Everything was functional and safe, but we needed the mast and the meter box replaced. Guys had her electric back on within a couple hours of arriving.
